Soren was lying down in his bed staring at the ceiling. After finishing dinner, his sisters and father took one last flight with their dragons around the land, just to have some alone time together not just as father and daughters, but as dragon riders. After that, everyone just went to bed. It was late at night and Soren wanted to go to sleep, he just couldn't. He was too excited. In just 3 days, the carriages would be leaving to take all proper aged children who wished to become Dragon Riders to the royal capital for a chance to be chosen by a dragon egg.

"Oh man. I can't sleep. Really unfortunate I don't know any sleeping spells. I could use one right now."

Then Roy remembered something he had that might help him sleep. He got up out of his bed and walked to his dresser. He opened the top drawer. Inside was a small metal box. Roy opened the box and took out what was inside. A silver ocarina with golden rings. It was a gift his mother gave him on his seventh birthday. It's been passed down from her side of the family for generations. It was called the Ocarina of Light that when played with a song, it's tune can be used for a variety of things. To put people to sleep, to calm anger even calm a raging beast like dragons and temporarily enhance someones power. His mother taught him to play the ocarina with magic during his training. Of course it can also just be use to play for fun. Soren took the ocarina from the box and walked outside to his bedrooms balcony.

He looked down at his family's front yard and saw the lamps were lite. The garden had thousands of fireflies buzzing around the flowers. Soren sat down at the table on his balcony that he normally used used to drink tea with his family or when he wanted to study outside. Soren placed the instrument to his lips and began to play. After he finished playing, he felt so much more relaxed. "Well, I guess that did the trick. I do feel more relaxed. I guess I can go to bed now".

Soren walked back into his room when he heard a knock at his door. "Master Soren. It's Amy".

Soren opened his bedroom door to see Amy standing in the hallway. She was wearing a long sleeved pink sleeping gown with brown slippers. Soren couldn't help but look at how beautiful she was dressed in pink. "Is everything alright, Young Master?", Amy asked.

"Yes, everything's fine. Why do you ask?"

"Well, I had this feeling that something was bothering you, so I got up to check on you. I heard you playing your ocarina as I was walking down the hall. You played it beautifully, by the way", Amy answered.

"Well, thank you. I like it when others enjoy it when I play my ocarina".

"Lady Cynthia taught you well".

"If only someone could teach her to cook well", said Soren.

Amy and Soren giggled. "Well, if everything is alright, I'll be returning to my room now. Good night, Master Soren", said Amy as she bowed to Soren.

As Amy began walking back to her room, Soren called back to her. "Amy wait! You can stay for a while if you like. I could use some company."

Soren and Amy sat at the table on his balcony listening to the sounds of the night and staring up at the stars. "It's a very lovely night, isn't it, sir?"

Soren just stared at the sky. "Master Soren?", Amy asked as she tapped his shoulder.

"Oh. Sorry Amy. My thoughts were somewhere else", Soren answered.

Amy sighed. "Young Master, I can tell something is bothering you. Is this about you going to the trip to the capital?"

Soren nodded. "Why is it bothering you? I thought you were excited?", asked Amy.
