🌿Okay so "🔪🫀" will be like an indicator of a timeskip. Anyways, this chapter almost didn't happen today. Been struggling with energy lately. Idk why.🌿

In between classes, Shuichi tried asking around for who started the rumor, never getting a straight answer. While some refused to answer at all, others blamed people they didn't like, just wanting to start problems. Shuichi could tell right away with the way people spoke about it, showing less fear and more mischievous in their eyes. He rolled his in response, not entertaining their drama and moving on to someone else. Unfortunately, no matter how many people he asked, progress wasn't being made. Even Kasumi was struggling on her end, giving Shuichi an update every in between periods. The school day was half over, and he hadn't even got a clue to go off of, starting to give up.

He was currently in the middle of eating his lunch in the janitor's closet, needing some peace from people treating him like an exhibit to watch. No matter where he went, everyone would stare at him and whisper. At this point, he was just annoyed with having so much attention on him, not caring as much for what it was about. Not to say he wasn't still worried about it, just tired of the attention.

It didn't take long to eat, only having a bag of chips he bought on his way out of the lunchroom. Typically, he brought his own lunch but forgot about it due to being extra tired this morning. Chips were better than nothing and at least he was eating in quiet. Once done, he placed the bag on a random shelf, stretching as he thought of what to do now. There was still probably 20 minutes left before next period, giving him time to investigate the matter more if he wished. However, he chose to go straight to his next class, preferring to just be extra early than waste his time further. As he began opening the classroom door, he froze at hearing a laugh, about to turn away until he recognized the voice. Opening the door a little further, just enough for him to see into the room, he noticed Miu sitting on top of a desk, rambling on about her love for creating inventions. They didn't work a lot of the time but that didn't stop her from trying. Across from her, standing, was Kokichi, eyes lit up as he listened to her talk. He asked if she'd make something for him, her agreeing at a cost.

Miu stood up from the desk, getting close to Kokichi as she spoke in a more quiet tone. Shuichi was too far away to hear what was being said, getting a good idea from seeing Kokichi's face get red. Kokichi backed up a bit, insisting Miu couldn't possibly want that from someone like him. But she insisted, saying she'd make him anything he wants in exchange. Kokichi's eyes darted around the room anxiously. It wasn't fear, just embarrassment. Eventually, his eyes landed on the door, making direct eye contact with Shuichi. Kokichi's face went blank for a second before turning away, insisting to Miu that he should head to his next class. She tried offering to go with him, but he declined, saying he will just message her later to continue the conversation. Shuichi backed up from the door as Kokichi left, looking back to make sure Shuichi wasn't following him.

Shuichi just stood by the door for a few seconds, processing everything he just saw. He wasn't at all surprised Miu was attempting to get with Kokichi, though couldn't believe Kokichi was going along with it. Miu seemed like the last kind of girl someone like him would be interested in. He stopped that thought, shaking his head in confusion on what he even meant by that. Shuichi knew nothing about Kokichi to make that claim, yet he felt somewhere deep in him that the two weren't compatible at all. Shaking in anger, he slowly turned to walk into the room, Miu not bothering to look up from her phone as he made his way towards her. For a second, he thought she was too into her phone to notice him, taken off guard when she spoke.

"Finally narrowed it down, huh," she asked.

"What," he asked, trying not to show any emotion in his voice.

"I knew no one would tell you it was me, but you seem like the type of guy to be good at solving mysterious." She smirked, slowly putting down her phone to make eye contact with him.
