A few hours passed before Shuichi started to become conscious again, awoken by the smell of food. He quickly sat up, immediately having to go back down from feeling dizzy. His vision hadn't cleared yet, making the whole situation scary. He tried his best to remember what happened last and feel his surroundings. The floor he laid on was wood, this making sense for why his body was aching. Aside from the smell of food, the general scent of the house wasn't familiar, causing a bit of panic. He tried sitting up again, this time slower, as he wiped his eyes. Slowly, his vision cleared, revealing he was still in Kokichi's room.

Memories flooded back of everything that happened, anxiety setting in. Part of him still couldn't believe he was in Kokichi's house. Not only that, but Kokichi invited him over and was making dinner. It was a weird course of events these last few days, the thought of it all tempting him to go back to sleep. However, his stomach pain was getting harder to ignore. Plus, he couldn't stay here for long. Able to think a little clearer now, he realized Kokichi's house would be a suspected place to look, meaning he needed to figure out what he was going to do right now.

He could make this quick, attacking Kokichi while he wasn't looking and having a final meal. Or he could jump out the window and take his chances on the run. There were the other options of turning himself in or taking his own life, though neither were appeasing enough to entertain. Taking some deep breaths, he stretched while thinking. His thoughts switched to asking himself why he was on the floor. Sure, he remembered fainting. But surely Kokichi heard the thud. Or at the very least would check on him at some point. It was careless to let a stranger into your house and not keep an eye on them, especially when they have stalking allegations against you. Though they did clear that up, it would be weird to trust it to this extent. However, if Kokichi wanted to lure him into a false trap, he would've called the police instead of making food. Shuichi tried taking out his phone to check the time, being reminded that he no longer had one.

The smell of the food was beginning to affect him, mind filling with murderous thoughts once more. He tried shaking his head, wanting time to think without his hunger doing the talking. Shakily standing up, he stumbled towards the bedroom door. His body still felt weak, legs begging to give out once more. But he pushed on, eventually ending up back in the living room. Looking around, he noticed the table had been set with food and drinks, a hum coming from the kitchen. Kokichi soon came out, pausing when he saw Shuichi standing there.

"I was just about to come get you," Kokichi said, eyes lighting up with excitement. "Dinner is finally done." He gestured towards the table, going as far as to pull out Shuichi's seat for him.

Something about this didn't feel real. Hours ago, Kokichi looked at Shuichi will fear and disgust. But now he was eagerly rushing Shuichi to eat with him. Shuichi couldn't help but smile, the murderous thoughts wavering for a second as he appreciated the gesture. The only person in a long time to put in effort to make Shuichi happy was Kasumi, though he found her more annoying than anything. Something about him just felt attracted to Kokichi, accepting the seat and staring down at the food.

The plate had some meat, a side of rice, and a side of mashed potatoes. Truthfully, it didn't look all that appealing. The only thing he could think about was wanting specific meat, not whatever animal was on this plate. But he wouldn't dare voice that out loud, forcing a smile as he looked at Kokichi, who was now sitting beside him at the table.

"I wasn't sure what you'd like and didn't have the money to buy anything new," Kokichi said, scratching the back of his neck. "But I hope you like it anyways. I mean, it has been a while since you've ate."
