It was my first night in Arkansas. I'm originally from Kansas but I moved to Arkansas to find something a little further from home. Something new. Something fun. Out of undegrad. 22 and free.
I walked into a bar with my friend lilly.
"How are you liking Arkansas so far" Lilly asked
"I mean it's fun so far thanks to you, not incredibly different from Kansas" I said then taking a sip from my beer.
"You know what would make it even more fun" she said getting closer to me excited.
I gave her a what are you thinking look questioning her.
"Come on Lavender, you are one of the bravest people I know, you will literally do anything."
"I won't do anything"
Now she was the one giving me the look
"Okayyy you up for a dare" she said with a questioning eyebrow
"Always" I said chuckling
She turned her focus away from me and instead to behind the bar. "Miss can I have another beer please." The bartender give her a knowing look as well as another beer. Lilly immediately puts the beee in my hands.
I laugh. "Ok what do you want me to do now Lil"
"You see that guys over there with the cowboy hat and the grin" she said pointing at the guy.
No I hadn't seen him. That face was something I would definitely not forget. The man was very attractive.
"Mr Cowboy over there" I said
"Yes, your gonna give him a beer and tell him that you love him" she said
"What! That I love him are you crazy"
"Yes, yes I am. But your crazier"
I look at him again. I could use a cowboy I thought to myself. I turn back to Lilly with a smirk.
"You got it" I told her walking towards the guy in the cowboy hat. I tapped him on the shoulder. Once he turned around I stared him right in the eyes.
"Here's a beer for you" he looked at me confused. But took the beer anyways.
"Thank you?" He said with a smile
"Sorry but I think you wanna here this"
"And what do I wanna here exactly" he said looking me up and down with a smile. Now I got your attention Mr Cowboy.
"Yes well excuse me, but you look like you love me" I said right there. Boom. I did it. He stared at me for a second. Then he laughed.
"I do look like that don't I, what's your name my future love"
I blinked. Ok sir. Now I look like I love you.
"Lavender. Lavender Wilson. And yours?" I shook his hand and felt a jolt of electricity.
"Tyler, and if you don't mind me asking, is lavender you favorite flower." He asked clearly intrigued cause he never once broke eye contact except to stare at my lips. Which made me want to crumble.
