"He's gotta be a heartbeatin,' finetreatin,' breathetakin,' earthquakin kind"
As I was walking back into the house after saying goodbye to Tyler, Kate goes rushing outside to Tyler's truck. She knocks on his car door. I couldn't hear exactly what they said but suddenly I went from the front porch door to waking to the barn.
Me, Tyler, and Kate were looking through her notes.
"So this is what I had, but I never really got the chance to test it." Kate said looking at us.
Tyler looked up at her with a serious face. "Do you want one?" He asked.
Kate took that chance and we loaded up the truck with the solution. We were out looking for the right tornado. I was sitting with Tyler up in the front.
"Which one should we go for Kate? East or West." Tyler asked.
"I don't know the one there seems like a safe bet, it's all by itself." Kate said grinning.
Tyler looked at her. Questioning her. "Nope, you both have to stop misdirecting me just chose one." Tyler said.
Kate and I laughed. Kate found a tornado to go after.
"Ready" Tyler asked. "Ready" we said. We were about to drive into a tornado. Tyler and I had modified the triggers in the truck so that it could release Kates experiment. I was buckling up.
"You better hang on tight kate. And don't worry, this is going to be fun." I told her.
"You ready Daisy"
"Always"
We drove into the tornado. Man I missed this. "Wooooooo" I yelled. Tyler smiled at me. I know that he also missed doing this together.
Tyler released the bins full of the substance.
"Kate kate look" I told her excited. I could feel Tyler staring at me. In fact he had been staring at me this whole time. I wasn't even sure if he say the tornado.
"Is it working?" Kate asked.
We all looked into the tornado trying to see if it worked. We weren't completely sure. We went back the barn to finalize the substance.
Tyler was putting the notes through the middle again. "We should have a more visual in the evidence that it's working, so we are definitely missing something" I said and they nodded.
I continued looking at the model trying to find a solution. "What if we add more precipitation?" I asked. "Hmm" Tyler said while adding it to the model.
The model was working. "Yes" we all yelled in victory.
It was now time to test out the final model. But we would need the whole team. The whole crew.
Tyler, Kate, and I were in our way to meet up with the rest of the crew. Tyler wanted to stop by the gas station to get a drink. Kate and I were alone in the truck.
"How ya feeling Kate?" I asked her. Though her findings were amazing and I was very excited to figure out if it could work, I was worried about her.
"I'm doing great" she said with a smile.
"Really?" I said surprised.
"Yeah, I'm just as surprised as you, but this is honestly bringing me a lot of closure"
"I'm happy for you" I said grabbing her hand a little to affirm her. She laughed, happily.
"I'm happy for you too" she said.
"Why?"
"Oh come on. You and Mr.Cowboy seem to have patched things up. I really appreciate him doing this for me. You've told me the story of you both together and the breakup, but seeing you two together like this instead of bickering, is making me realize why you accepted that ring ok your finger." She said.
"I mean I think we got closure on our breakup." I said relieved.
"And what about the future?" Kate asked.
I sighed. "The future is still unclear, but seeing him be so nice to you and going tornado chasing with him again, is bringing up that love thatI tried to bury inside. And not to mention that he's still really hot." I said and Kate laughed.
I continued "but I think even if we don't get together right now, we both now that eventually we will, cause I guess I still love him." I said getting it off my chest. That I'm still as in love with him as the first day I met him, and the day he proposed, and the day we broke up.
"And he still as sure still looks like he loves you" Kate said. "Let's see where this goes Kate, thanks for supporting me"
"Thanks for supporting me Lavender." We hugged. When Tyler and I were together, we were each others best friends. But I'm glad that during our time apart, I got to find and strengthen my girl friendships.
Tyler walked back into the car. He had two waters and a coke. "Got ya some water Kate."
"Thank you Tyler."
Tyler looked up at me smiling and stared at me for a while. I couldn't help but stare back.
I cleared my throat. "So should we get going" I said. Tyler got out of his imagination and started to put the car on drive while saying a "yeah sorry"
I started grabbing the water cause I was hella thirsty. Tyler stopped my hand. "Nope that one's not for you" he told me as I looked at him confused.
"The coke is yours, it's your favorite" he said looking me in the eyes lovingly. God help meeee.
"While thanks for remembering Mr.Cowboy" I told him in a thick county accent that usually only coke out when I'm with him.
"I always will remember everything about you Lavender" he says grinning as we drive away. I blushed. That man sure now show to be a douche while still being charming. And for me he's extra sweet.
