The Butterfly Estate was quiet, the soft rustle of leaves and the distant hum of cicadas creating a serene atmosphere. Hisato, now seven and towering at 1.93 meters, was sitting under the largest cherry blossom tree, staring up at the fluttering petals with a distant look in his eyes. Kanae Kocho, nearly fifteen, approached him with a gentle smile, sensing the heaviness in his heart.

"Hisato, are you okay?" Kanae asked softly, sitting down beside him.

Hisato glanced at her, his large hands fidgeting with a fallen blossom. "Kanae, do you think Hayato will come back soon? I miss him a lot."

Kanae's heart ached at Hisato's words. She'd heard from the master that according to the reports and why Hisato was put in jail, that his brother, an esteemed police officer was long dead, having died against the demon that Hisato managed to beat.

She knew the pain of losing a loved one and the difficulty of explaining such a loss to a child. Taking a deep breath, she placed a comforting hand on his arm. "Hisato, Hayato loved you very much. He always wanted you to be happy and safe."

Hisato nodded, his eyes filling with unshed tears. "I know. But why did he leave? Why can't he come back?"

Kanae looked at him, her eyes gentle and full of understanding. "Sometimes, people we love have to go away, and they can't return. It doesn't mean they don't love us anymore. Hayato is watching over you, even if you can't see him."

Hisato's tears began to spill over, and Kanae wrapped her arms around him, holding him close. "It's okay to miss him, Hisato. It's okay to feel sad. But remember, Hayato wouldn't want you to be sad. He's probably watching over you right now, wanting you to smile."

Hisato sniffled, leaning into Kanae's embrace. "I just wish he was here. You remind me of him, you know. You always take care of me."

Kanae's heart swelled with love and sadness. "I'll always be here for you, Hisato. Just like Hayato was. We can talk about him whenever you want, and remember all the happy times you had together."

As they sat under the cherry blossom tree, Hisato shared stories and memories of Hayato. Kanae knew that the pain of loss would never fully go away, but she was determined to help Hisato find strength and happiness despite it.
