Chapter 4 : Shopping

POV Scarlett

When I wake up, I notice that Liv and Ava are still sleeping and I sneak out of our room to prepare our breakfast. I'm definitely going to make pancakes and serve some for Liv with blueberries and syrup and make some for Ava and me with strawberries and chocolate. Just as I'm preparing them, I hear footsteps on the stairs, which can only mean that Liv has woken up with Ava. As always, Liv has caught the perfect timing when breakfast is already ready. I chuckle when I see Ava's tired face and I can't help but give her a kiss on the top of her head. Hey babe, can you take her for a minute? I want to call our private clinic to make an appointment for her with Dr. Hunter. She specializes in children and the cardio area, so that should be fine," she says and goes out to her office. Well then, I should make sure my little princess doesn't fall asleep again. Hmmm... Ah! "Babygirl, how do you think about going on a shopping trip to the mall after breakfast?" She immediately nods and I chuckle. Her eyes practically shine with joy. Oh no, we don't have a high chair for her yet. We're going to have to buy a few things today to make sure she's safe and we have everything she needs. " Hmm... Ah hey babe, we don't have a high chair for Ava yet and she can't sit up on her own even less. Do you want to put her on your lap and I feed her or the other way around?" "Scar, I'll put my little star on my lap and you feed her. OK. " and I nodded. I started to feed her and I must say she is a heavy eater. We will definitely buy her a bib too. "Ah Scar, Ava has an appointment with Dr Hunter tomorrow morning. She is supposed to check on her general condition and her heart. Then we can also talk to her doctor about breastfeeding." "OK, well then, our little principessa can sleep a little now and we'll eat our breakfast which, by the way, I prepared with lots of love just for my two favourite people." I say and we eat our breakfast, then I clear the table and Liv goes to dress our baby girl and then she gets ready. "Scar, babe, me and Ava are ready. I'll go with her to the car, okay?" "Yes, sure, I'll come straight after you. " I take my cell phone and go out to the car to drive off.

time skip (arrived at the mall)

Since we went to one of our department stores, we closed it to outsiders for today. That way we're all safe and no one can harass or endanger my little princess or my beloved wife. But just to be on the safe side, I brought our bodyguards with me. You can never be too careful when it comes to the safety of your loved ones. Especially in our positions, because of the strong influence, many are after us too. I don't want our little princess to get dragged into this. I absolutely have to protect her and Liv, no matter what the cost. Liv pulls me out of my thoughts as she lists everything we need to buy. "So Scar, we actually need everything. First we'll go to the furniture, OK?" "Yes. and let me hold my principessa while I do so. Now shush and go out and find some suitable furniture and I'll play with our little angel." All I hear is a chuckle and a "just be careful what you say to me" from Liv. Oh, how I love this woman, but first to my bundle of joy in my arms. We play for about half an hour until she falls asleep. She looks so peaceful. Well then, let's go and find your mommy. I ask one of my bodyguards where Liv is and she says that she is with the strollers. When I find her, she has just decided on a bassinet stroller. "Hey Liv, how's it going? What have you bought already?" "Ah babe, before I answer any questions, give me my baby girl. Shhh, everything is fine, baby, come on, go back to sleep, I'll wake you up again when we get to the toys. Ah baby, how about if mommy sings you a lullaby. " says Liv and starts rocking our baby and singing her a lullaby. Oh, my beautiful wife is just fantastic, I could watch and listen to her for hours. I couldn't imagine a better mommy for our baby. She is so good with her and I already know that our principessa will be a mommy's girl, but I'm glad that they already have such a good connection and they will have an even better one once Liv starts breastfeeding Ava. Of course, I'm not giving up yet because Ava should love me just as much as she loves Liv, but now we should go shopping and buy the rest of the things we need for Ava.

time skip (3 hours later)

So now we just need the baby carrier and some basic things like diapers, pacifiers and baby bottles. So now we're in the toy department and can wake up our baby girl. She started moving 5 minutes ago, so just in time. "Hey sweetheart, come on, wake up, you can choose a few toys now," she wakes up straight away and Liv and I start laughing and I put her down on the floor so she can choose her things. She goes straight to the stuffed animals and chooses a plush husky and a white rabbit. Because she didn't seem to want anything else, Liv and I picked out a few more things for her and then we had everything brought to our cars so we could go to McDonald's for dinner. Ava really wanted a happy meal. After eating, Liv went to change her diaper and clean her up and I waited. On the way back to the house, both of them were fast asleep, Ava with her pacifier and her new stuffed animals in her new baby seat and Liv next to her with her hand on our baby girl. When we got home, both of them were still asleep, so I took the opportunity to take a few pictures and then I woke Liv up and carried our baby girl in and put her in her new crib in our bedroom. The rest of the day was quiet and in the evening we watched a Disney film with Ava before she went to sleep. Shortly afterwards we also lay down. Tomorrow will be a busy day with her doctor's appointment. Liv said she will most likely need a few vaccinations and we all know that that will definitely mean a lot of crying. But anyway, good night for now and see you tomorrow.
