About an hour or so later some soldiers came into the lab to look for Azura and Lyria. When they came in they saw a burnt desk. The soldiers were worried about them and began calling for them. Both Azura and Lyria had regained consciousness by now and they started banging on the armory door to be let out. One of the soldiers rushed to the door to find it was locked. Thinking that they accidentally trapped themselves he tried to kick the door down. Seeing him struggle another soldier picked up a hammer and smashed away at the wood around the lock. Finally the door came free and the soldiers stepped in.
"Where's all the equipment?" Demanded one of the soldiers when he saw the empty room. "And why has the desk been burnt?" Barked another. "It was an accident." Lyria whimpered as she was feeling a little disoriented. "What do you mean?" He asked again. "It's been stolen." Azura replied. In her dizziness she only realized how stupid and guilty they both probably sounded after she'd said this. The soldiers looked at them and began to come to their own conclusions as to what happened.
"You've stolen it!?" He cried out. "How could you... and to lead your apprentice astray as well." A soldier let out. Azura once again tried to explain but she was struggling to formulate words and this made it look like she was trying to come up with a lie. "I...I...I... we... we were just um." She stuttered. "What disgusting and shameless behavior. To think of what Captain Doriane would think right now. How selfish of you to betray the Frostbourne like this." Commented a soldier who, like the others, was in complete shock. "She'd be stuck in the same position with us." Lyria mumbled subconsciously which only made the situation worse.
Upon hearing this a soldier ran into the hallway and shouted for the guards. Soon they came running in and were quickly filled in with the situation. Meanwhile Azura and Lyria were kind of bewildered as to what was actually happening. "Guards seize them!" Someone shouted. Before they knew it both Azura and Lyria were shoved to the ground with handcuffs hastily being fastened. "You are under arrest for the acts of theft and treason. You have the right to remain silent..." A guard said before Lyria interrupted. "But we can't steal from ourselves and have it be called theft." She cried.
"That equipment belonged to the army, not you. You've simply taken advantage of being the ones trusted enough with the keys." Spoke the guard. "The potions aren't taken." Azura pointed out. "That's cause you locked yourselves in when you came back to take them as your greed couldn't resist." Replied another guard and with that the two were dragged away down to the dungeons where they would be kept prisoners.
Lyria lay on a bed in the cell her and Azura had been put in. She was worried of what might happen to them. Azura had her head in her hands while she sat on the other bed. Neither of them spoke. The cell door opened and in came Patrick, Hilda and 2 prison guards. "Let's not make this any longer than it has to be." Patrick said though his voice quivered slightly as he was heartbroken. "Yes, let's keep this simple. We've already established that you were the ones who stole the equipment so you just need to tell us where the equipment is and this will help in lightening your sentence." Hilda explained.
Azura said nothing as she was trying to stop herself from crying. She felt like she failed as a soldier, girlfriend and mentor and was miserable because of it. Lyria refused to make eye contact with anyone. Hilda sighed. Normally she'd get answers out of prisoners but she didn't feel like it today. An awkward silence fell upon the cell until Patrick regained composure. "I suppose we'll leave if neither of you will speak although you have 2 weeks before the trial and I would recommend you reveal the location of the stolen equipment before then." He said and he turned to leave followed by Hilda before the guards finally left as well.
Azura didn't say anything after they left, however Lyria did. "2 weeks! We're going to be in jail for 2 weeks!" She cried out. "It's only 2 weeks. It's not a long time. We're going to remain in jail for much longer than 2 years." Azura replied. "I'm not worried about us being trapped in jail. I'm worried about what the Frostbourne is going to do without that equipment in that time." Lyria said. "But we're not going to get out and no one's going after the real culprits who've framed us." Pointed out Azura. "If only we could say it was our evil counterparts who did it." Lyria sighed. "But we can't cause mine's dead and yours... also happens to be in prison." Explained Azura not knowing just how inaccurate she was.
