Fractureverse Lyria took a deep breath when she stared at the beer placed down on the bar in front of her. It was extremely tempting to her to just drink it however she knew it was better to have delayed gratification than to get drunk and give away who she was. Carefully she took the beer to hand it to Vimir who had kindly asked her to fetch it. Setting it down on the table he thanked her as he continued to read a letter of some kind. Fractureverse Lyria went to leave through the tavern door before Hilda walked in with the two almost colliding.
"I'm sorry Lyria. I didn't see you, although I was just looking for you. I wanted to ask you as to whether you'd like to come to the market with me to buy some flowers." Hilda exclaimed. "Flowers?" Questioned Fractureverse Lyria. "Well um yes. I thought you might like to take some with you when you go to visit your sister's grave with me later this afternoon as I would also like to visit the graveyard." Hilda explained. Fractureverse Lyria bit her tongue hard. She had to tell herself that she was playing a different person now and that this Doriane was not the same one who'd caused her so much pain. "Um yea thank you Commander I'll come with you." Fractureverse Lyria replied, trying her hardest to appear grateful. Luckily for her Hilda didn't notice anything strange about her behavior as she'd done well to hide it.
Later that afternoon Fractureverse Lyria crouched down in front of Doriane's grave. Hilda in the meantime was visiting some other graves allowing the teen to have some space to herself. Fractureverse Lyria stared at the grave wondering if this Doriane had died the same death as hers. Fractureverse Doriane had blown herself on purpose when the Fractureverse Frostbourne had been losing the battle in the far plains, unable to advance the airships any further. No one really cared about her death as she had been a horrible person and to most the airship's destruction had been more of a loss. 'It's better this way.' Fractureverse Lyria said to herself while thinking about Fractureverse Doriane's death before she got dragged into a sudden flashback.
Several years ago a small child, Fractureverse Lyria, ran up to her sister. "Doriane, Doriane, look, look! Azura's let me help her with her project. She's giving me a list of things to fetch from the market." Fractureverse Lyria chimed happily. "Urgh whatever you know I hate the very mention of her name. She just uses you but honestly you're too stupid to realise that and frankly I don't care as long as it keeps you out of my hair!" Spat Fractureverse Doriane. "But I'm being useful like you've told me to be. We're working together on a new type of technology based on beacon energy." Fractureverse Lyria pouted.
"Then I don't know why you bothered me with the know it all, science stuff." Huffed Fractureverse Doriane, crossing her arms. "Azura wanted me to ask you for some money so I can buy the stuff we need." Fractureverse Lyria explained as she looked at her older sister with begging eyes. "How dare she get you to bleed my apprentice earnings out of me! If she didn't waste so much time on her useless inventions maybe she'd actually have some money to fund them. If you ever come to ask favors from me for that selfish brat you can tell her to come and say it to my face." Spat Fractureverse Doriane.
Fractureverse Lyria began to cry and she went to hug her sister. "I'm sorry but I like looking at her cool science things..." she said but Fractureverse Doriane pushed her away before grabbing the front of her shirt lifting her off her feet. "Now listen here, you little traitor. I couldn't care less if you waste your time with Azura because I don't want you around as life would've been better if you had not been born, however I despise that you've teamed up with her to make me the bad guy who won't fund your little 'project'. Next time you side with her against me I'll make sure what I'm about to do, look like nothing!" Fractureverse Doriane snarled and then swung her arm forwards letting go of Fractureverse Lyria.
Fractureverse Lyria yelped when she landed on the ice path watching her sister ignore her tears as she walked away. Soon enough Fractureverse Lyria would grow up to learn not to show weakness by covering up her fears with a fake confidence. Despite her later coming off as arrogant she nevertheless felt insecure at times. Even now that she had the end crystals she couldn't help but worry that something would go wrong before she had completed her plan. She remembered what had happened to her sister when she'd tried to skip out doing drill with a cunning plan only to end in disaster.
