From that moment on, the Doctor had his wife scheduled for a weekly check up and Rose suspected her husband not to be really worried about her and the baby, but that he just liked doctoring. She didn't mind however. From every scan that was made, she had a copy printed and with those she created a beautiful baby book of her own.

The book they found in the library was now on her night stand and every picture of their little Quanta was compared, admired and considered a thousand times prettier.

In the seventh week of the pregnancy, the fifteenth week of her marriage Rose received a new letter from Martha. It took Rose a lot of calculating to be able to send the letters with acceptable delay, and she was seriously considering enclosing the truth to her friend. That however had to be done in person.

Eager for some news from home, Rose opened the letter.

She read the contents and a delighted squeal escaped her.

"Doctor? Doctor!"

Only half a minute later the Doctor burst into the console room, instantly relieved to find his interpretation of her jittery emotions inaccurate.

"He proposed! Michael proposed!"

"Did he now? Brilliant, good lad!"

The Doctor scooped his wide grinning wife in his arms and swung her around a few times.

"When 's the wedding?"

"The week before Christmas, they want us to be there and figured since we are coming back around that date, it would be easiest."

"That's very considerate of them."

Rose nodded, she felt guilty for making her friends believe it would take a long time for her to be back. It strengthened her resolve to disclose her secret to her friends.

"Which day is today?"

"Forgot to look on your calendar this morning?"

Rose grinned. "Yeah, I made another one about how the baby is growing, that is, if the growth and development is similar to that of Gallifreyan baby?"

"It is, more so because of you. Though the order and advancement of the different stages of development are slightly different. You will tire sooner and need more energy, especially in the periods of rapid growth. Compared to a human baby, Quanta here is a bit small, but he has used his energy up till now mostly for the forming of his brain synapses and two hearts. With a human baby the brain is formed within the womb and the neural pathways are woven when the child is born. He will create, cut off and recreate those synapses in order to learn. A Gallifreyan child is born with the synapses in place that are in a human fully implemented at about twenty-five. From the time he is born, a Gallifreyan is able to do, well... everything a lot faster and... better..."

By this time, Rose was tapping her foot and scolding her husband in silence.

The Doctor rubbed his neck, looked up a little sheepishly and said: "It's today, ow... the eighteenth of October."

"A little over two months then. Ow, I can't wait. I'll write to her right away, were we planning to go anywhere today?"

"Weeeelll, I thought I'd show you a bit of Earth in the future, you know, hop here and there, golden age, second golden age, new Earth, new new Earth. But, we can do that tomorrow, or the next day, any day you like."

"Thank you, my dear husband, you can show me all the Earth you like, after I have written to my friend."

Rose smiled, kissed the Doctor swiftly on his cheek and skipped out of the console room, happily on her way to the library and her stationary. She felt the soft touch of her son's presence as he shared in his mother's feelings of joy and Rose giggled. The Doctor's presence also caressed her mind and an overwhelming sense of felicity made Rose pause in her steps to breath in deeply, almost too happy to believe it all to be true.
