When the driver's hands were set and tightly splinted, Martha stood and finally took time to gaze at her surroundings.

The Doctor, unbeknownst to his companions, sedated the man, so he would not wake up any time soon. Thus giving the newly-weds time to adjust to the new found strangeness of the husband of their friend.

"So, this is the TARDIS? I must say it is quite overwhelming."

"You knew of this?" Michael countered after hearing his wife state the question.

"I did, but for a few days only. I meant to tell you after the wedding. This... situation as we might call it, was not part of the plan."

"I certainly hope not. I am quite put out by this revelation. Is there an alien that belongs to this singular contraption?"

"Oi, I resent that word." The Doctor suddenly yelled, sounding completely like the man Rose had gotten to know to be the real Doctor.

She giggled and looked at the shocked expression that now appeared on Mr. Smith's face.

"Do you mean to tell me... No! Mrs. Lungbarrow, surely this can not be the case?"

"Do not be alarmed Michael. There is so much to tell, it is impossible to convey to you the depth of the simple statement you are about to make."

"You mean like; your husband is an alien?"

This time Martha giggled and when Michael looked at her with a questioning expression, Martha explained: "That was also my first exclamation after I learned the news."

"So it is true. You, Sir Lungbarrow, you are not from this world?"

Rose went to stand next to the Doctor and taking his hand, she proclaimed: "My husband is protector of this world and of many others as well. He is a Time Lord and this is our home as well as our ship."

She motioned to the walls around her.

"Her designation is a TARDIS, it means Time And Relative Dimension In Space. We have been to more worlds than you can imagine and we've seen the most wondrous things, but at present there is no time to sit down and discuss our journeys. I will however have you know one thing Michael and I need you to understand."

Rose let go of the Doctor's hand and walked up to her friends.

Taking both their hands she declared: "My husband is the man I love more than anything in the whole wide universe. He is the father of my child and he means everything to me. Being an alien means nothing, other than that he was born far away from here. He is the same man now as he was yesterday and I implore you not to reveal what you have learned to an other being. For this knowledge may give rise to unwanted attention which we can easily escape, but my family will suffer for it."

Martha shook her hand and facing Michael she said in a stern voice: "We will not betray your trust. You may count on us to keep your secret, is that not true Michael?"

Mr. Smith looked first at his wife, than at Rose and after a moment his gaze moved to the Doctor. The man; whom he could no longer look at in the same way as before, merely stood there. The expression in his eyes when gazing upon Rose was one of pride and love and on seeing those strong emotions Mr. Smith nodded.

"We will." He vowed with a voice still a bit shaky.

Rose sighed in relief and hugged her friends.

"I am so glad. We will tell you everything, all in due course. It is such a relief to be able to share the truth with you. We have not told you any lies, merely concealed the truth. That gave me much distress and now it is no longer required. Thank you very much for willing to share our secret."
