______________________________________The sun peeked through the open parts of the wooden planks, illuminating the cramped space where Luffy and his crew were being held captive. Groggily, Luffy's eyes fluttered open and he took in the change in lighting.
"Hey." He whispered, gently shaking Nami and Zoro awake, struggling to wake Scarlett.
Nami sat up, rubbing the sleep from her eyes and shaking the hand that had been resting on her leg. "Zoro!" Luffy shouted, a little too loudly for their current situation.
Zoro jolted awake, immediately noticing the absence of his swords from his waist. "They took my swords." He muttered angrily, his mind still groggy from sleep.
"And my rucksack, ugh, with all my navigation gear." Nami groaned, holding her head.
Scarlett slowly woke up hearing their voices, joining the conversation. "Where are we?" She asked sleepily.
Luffy quickly reached up to check his head, sighing in relief when he felt the straw hat still resting there. "They didn't take my hat." He said, before turning to Nami. "Small blessings." He added with a sideways glance at the navigator.
"Damn it, we've lost the map!" Nami exclaimed, causing Luffy to stand up and hit his head against the crate roof.
"No, we didn't. It's in a safe place." Luffy said, patting his stomach. "Ew. Hey." Nami added in disgust.
Zoro punch the wood of the crates.
"Stop. stop that. Stop that." Nami seethed, trying to stop the swordsman."What? I'm trying to find a way out." Zoro snarled, continuing to attack the wooden walls."We've been captured, we need a plan."
"I don't need a plan. I just need to beat the hell out of every marine I see." Zoro claimed.
"Hey, everyone, relax. We're fine." The boy in the straw hat tried to calm them down.
"We're not fine. The marines will throw us in jail if we're lucky. Execute us if they don't." Nami pushed against the crate, causing Luffy to rush over to her.
"They... they are not marines. Before I got knocked out, I saw a jolly roger. We've been captured by pirates." Luffy whispered, lowering his voice to a conspiratorial level.
"That's much better news." Nami nodded her head sarcastically.
"No, he's right. Marines have training. Pirates are easier to kill." Scarlett spoke up, to Luffy's surprise.
"Shanks used to say not every situation can be solved with violence." Luffy stated, trying to calm his crew down.
"Who the hell is shanks?" Zoro asked, frustration clear in his voice.
"We don't need to fight. I can talk to them. Pirate to pirate." Luffy ignored Zoro, determined to find a peaceful solution.
The group fell silent, each lost in their own thoughts as they tried to come up with a plan. The sun continued to shine through the cracks in the wood planks, illuminating the space with its warm rays. Despite their current situation, there was a sense of hope in the air. They would find a way out, of that Luffy was sure. They always did.
Nami scoffed at the idea of Luffy being a pirate. "That won't work," she claimed. "Why not?" Luffy asked, looking up at her with a confused grin. "To start, you're not a pirate," Scarlett replied. "Yes, I am," Luffy insisted. But Scarlett shook her head. "No. You are just some stretchy guy in a tattered hat," she said.
