The opulent room shimmered with silks, satins, and jewels. Racks overflowed with designer gowns, tailored suits, and accessories that could blind a pirate from fifty paces.

"Why would anyone even need this many clothes?" Luffy asked curiously, his eyes widening in interest while his mouth stayed open.

"It’s not about need with these people. It’s about want." Nami explained, her fingers tracing the beading on a golden clutch.

"Want isn’t exclusive to the rich. Some people destroy for power, others for pride. Money just makes it easier to hide the motive." Scarlet glanced at Nami, voice steady but sharp.

"Blame the person, not the bank account."

"What are we even supposed to wear?" Luffy asked, totally oblivious of the underlying tension but by far better as he cut the awkward situation.

"Anything you want." Nami answered as she walked behind one of the dressing screens.

"When are you ever going to get the opportunity to wear things this nice?" She stepped out from behind the screen, adjusting the straps of a dark purple, sleeveless dress with a bold yellow outline tracing the neckline and hem. "Well? What do you think?" Nami asked.

"Well, look at you, Nami. I didn’t know you were the type to flaunt all that." Scarlet raised an eyebrow, giving Nami a playful look.

Nami got flustered, placing a hand on her cheek and pretending to look shy. "W-What? I’m not flaunting anything!" She quickly looked away, trying to hide a grin, her face turning a little pink.

"Sure, sure. You don’t look like you’re about to steal the spotlight or anything." Scarlet smirked.

"You look like Nami." Luffy said blankly, making the two girls share a look before Nami stormed into the dressing screen again to change.

"Hey, Zoro!"

"What you gonna wear?" Luffy asked.

"Something black." Zoro muttered, looking around with no expression.

"How edgy." Scarlet teased, making Zoro roll his eyes.

"Hey, does that butler seem familiar to you guys?" Zoro asked, placing his swords down as he sat on a chair which was in the corner.

"Yeah, I think he was at the last dinner party I attended." Nami replied with sarcasm.

"I swear I’ve seen him somewhere." Scarlet added, before someone could say something Nami popped out of the dressing screen this time in a dress and bedazzled covering. "How’s this?"

"Still Nami." Luffy commented.

"I said I’m wearing black." Zoro spoke without even giving a glance at Nami.

Scarlet rolled her eyes at the others' comments. "I liked the last one better." She told Nami.

"I hate you guys, except Scarlet ofc." Nami joked before popping into the dressing screen again to change.

"I feel kind of bad for Kaya. All this stuff. All this space," Luffy said, his voice quieter than usual.

He picked up a frilly coat and let it fall back onto a chair, watching it slump like it was too heavy for its own richness.

"It’s gotta make a person feel… lonely."

Nami came out of the dressing room standing nearby, arms crossed, resting her weight on one hip. She glanced around, unimpressed, her expression unreadable.
