______________________________________"No. Must be some other homicidal, unicycle-riding clown." Zoro retorted. Taking in a sharp breath through his nose, the clown pirate, Cabaji, sent a punch to Zoro's stomach. "I've been thinking about you for years. About how you killed my brother." He claimed with gritted teeth, his voice laced with a venomous hatred.
"I killed a lot of pirates," Zoro retorted, a hint of amusement in his voice. "I don't remember them all."
"My name is Cabaji, and a couple of years ago, you hunted us across the Goa Kingdom," Cabaji growled, his voice echoing with bitterness. "Followed us for weeks, through the swamp lands, day and night, never relenting, like some kind of demon." He gestured towards the towering swamp with a disdainful flick of his hand.
Zoro's gaze fell upon the Nami, who was struggling with the lock of a cage. He knew her tenacity, but the cage was intricately designed, a task even for the most skilled locksmith.
Pulling two daggers out of his belt, Cabaji followed Zoro's gaze to Nami.
Seeing this, Scarlett spoke up, her voice trembling with fear, "I still don't think he is ringing any bell."Seconds later, one of the daggers was stuck in the wheel, just inches from Zoro's head. The wood splintered, sending a shower of sawdust into the air. "He cut off my brother's head and stuffed it in a bag," Cabaji spat, his voice choked with rage, "all for a few berries."
Zoro sighed at the description. "Okay, that does sound like me," he admitted. He looked down at the pirate. "Let's see if you can keep your head," Cabaji challenged.
Walking to the side, Cabaji spun the unicycle, the wheel creaking as it turned. As he started to throw his knives into the splintering wood, Nami continued to work on the cage lock, her fingers nimble and quick, despite the fear that clung to her like a shroud.
As Zoro continued to spin, more knives sticking into the wheel he was trapped on, he glared daggers at the pirate in front of him. "You really don't fear death, do you?" Cabaji remarked, seeing how Zoro didn't react to the sharp knives coming close to stabbing into him. "No. I just don't fear you," Zoro retorted.
Tossing a knife up, Cabaji caught it by the metal handle and threw it at the man. The knife stuck into the wood, breaking a part of the rope that was looped around his wrist. Zoro cocked his head in disagreement. "Really? Got somewhere else to be?" Cabaji asked, amused. "Didn't used to think so. But Luffy changed that," Zoro replied, his eyes filled with determination.
Scarlett who was tied upside down to a metal rod, sucked in a harsh breath silently. "That simpleton in a straw hat. Don't tell me you actually believe in him?" Cabaji asked, disbelief written all over his face. Zoro didn't take his eyes off Cabaji as he answered, "I don't need to. He believes in himself. It rubs off."
Scarlett, who had been quiet until now, laughed softly. "And one more thing," Zoro said, beginning to move his wrist, making the rope rub against the blade. "Don't turn around," he whispered to the laughing pirate. Turning around, Nami kicked Cabaji's chest, sending him crashing back into the wooden wheel, freeing Zoro's arm.
Choking, Cabaji clawed at Zoro's arm, trying to free himself. Taking one of the knives, Nami freed Zoro's other arm. After a little struggling, Scarlett fell on the ground, cursing under her breath. With the loss of air, Cabaji blacked out. Dropping him carelessly, Zoro followed after Nami.
"What's the plan?" "You do have a plan, right? that's your thing, plans." Zoro asked. Nami looked at him, a smirk playing on her lips. "I say, we beat the hell out of every clown we see."
