Phileo enters the room and bathes himself in warm water after spending time with ‘guests’ in the dungeon.

He is alone as usual, with no servants.

‘After a long time, I’m pretty tired of cleaning up.’

Tomorrow, as Adlyn said, he’s thinking of tying a rope to a cliff and hanging them.

But if he did it, he expects them to die right away. In any case, he has to keep them alive until spring.

He leans into the tub in a drowsy manner, his eyes close as if sleeping.

At that moment, water falls on the bathroom ceiling; he opens his eyes to the sound.

‘Crazy people, they’re f*cked up.’

Then he recalls Leonia serving the ‘guests,’ and the corners of his mouth naturally raised.

‘How in the world can such an idea be done?’

Phileo is surprised and delighted by the children, who had not learned anything properly because he is still looking for a tutor.

He has no idea how beautiful she was when she was jiggling boots in one hand.

‘A child isn’t a pet.’

He remembers what Cara said the day before. Phileo's adoption was the source of the old lady’s concern.

Phileo, on the other hand, thinks the butler’s concerns are intrusive.

'No matter how you look at it, a 'pet' is an animal. It's an insult to a group of beasts.'

He thought she had good eyesight, but it seems to have faded as she grows older.

Adlyn and Leonia are not weak animals that can be tamed with a leash.

The first time he met the prince, he became interested by his light. The unusual beast unafraid of his presence and spreads its wings welcoming danger. Even when faced with the mistreatment of nobility and royalty, his bright flare remained unaffected.

From the first time he saw the girl, he was impressed by her determination not to lose to anyone. The beast itself was the strength of being mistreated by the orphanage elders while remaining unaffected.

If he tries to tame them with a leash, he’ll end up in a lot of trouble, just like the dungeon guests.

That's one of the many things that Phileo realized they have in common.

‘By the way—’

As expected, these children are strange.

‘How do you know the requiem and enslavement?’

The orphanage was unable to provide the children with proper education. The palace also wouldn't teach their young kin of such things. So, how did they find out about it?

Phileo cleans his body with a large, fluffy towel prepared in advance by the servants after taking a bath at the same time as he had planned.

Requiem, money embezzlement.

Slave trade, treason, abduction.
