Continuation Of Last Chapter
Olivia's POV:
"I can't do this right now," I say, practically sprinting upstairs to my room with Spencer hot on my heels.
"No, Olivia, we're having this conversation. You can't just run away whenever something gets tough!" Spencer says, putting his hand on the door to stop me from slamming it in his face.
"Well, I'm done with this conversation. All you need to know is that I'm pregnant with your baby. Hooray!" I say, dripping with sarcasm.
"OLIVIA! Get up and be the 22-year-old woman you are, and have this conversation!" Spencer yells, pacing in the middle of my room.
"Spencer, you don't get it! My career is finally taking off. I'm freaking out right now. I hate morning sickness that lasts all day, and I hate not being able to eat because of this thing inside of me," I finish, pointing at my stomach. Spencer just shakes his head.
"And how do you think I feel? My football career is taking off just like your journalism career. Liv, I always wanted you to be my wife and the mother of my kids. Hell, I would've given you ten," Spencer chuckles. "But how is that supposed to happen when the woman carrying my child doesn't love me or even look me in the eyes?" He finishes, catching my confused gaze.
It was quiet for a second before Spencer said, "Remember our first scare when we were together? We were excited to bring new life into the world, but guess what? We were in our second year of college." Spencer says, and I remember that day.
Flashback
Olivia woke up early one morning feeling queasy. She sat up slowly, trying to shake off the dizziness, but the nausea hit her hard. She quickly ran to the bathroom, barely making it to the toilet before she started throwing up.
Spencer, still half-asleep, heard her and rushed to the bathroom. "Liv, you okay?" he asked, his voice filled with concern.
Olivia nodded weakly, leaning against the wall. "I don't know what's wrong with me," she said, her voice shaky.
Spencer helped her back to bed and sat beside her, worry etched on his face. "You've been feeling sick for days, Liv. Maybe we should get a pregnancy test."
Olivia's eyes widened in surprise and fear. "A pregnancy test? You think I might be...?"
Spencer nodded. "It's possible. We need to know, Liv."
Olivia shook her head. "I don't want to, Spence. What if it's positive? We're not ready for a baby."
Spencer took her hand, squeezing it gently. "I know it's scary, but we need to know. No matter what, we'll figure it out together."
Olivia sighed, feeling overwhelmed. "Okay, go get the test."
Spencer kissed her forehead and quickly got dressed. "I'll be back soon. Just try to rest."
While Spencer was gone, Olivia lay in bed, her mind racing with all sorts of thoughts and worries. She wasn't sure if she wanted to be pregnant, but she knew that finding out was the only way to stop the endless worrying.
Spencer returned a short while later with a small box in hand. "Got it," he said, sitting down beside her.
Olivia looked at the box nervously. "I can't do it, Spence," she said, her voice trembling. "I'm scared."
Spencer wrapped his arm around her shoulders. "I know, Liv. But whatever the result, we'll handle it together."
After a few moments of hesitation, Olivia took the test and went into the bathroom. Spencer waited anxiously outside, his heart pounding in his chest.
When Olivia emerged, they sat together on the couch, holding hands and waiting for the timer to go off. The minutes felt like hours as they sat in silence, their thoughts racing.
Finally, the timer went off. Olivia took a deep breath and looked at the test. It was negative.
A wave of relief washed over her, mixed with a hint of disappointment she hadn’t expected. Spencer hugged her tightly, feeling the same mix of emotions.
"I guess...im not pregnant. " Olivia said quietly.
Spencer kissed her forehead. "Maybe not today, but someday."
They sat together, processing the news. They knew they weren't ready for a baby yet, but they also knew they could face anything together. And for now, that was enough.
End of Flashback
"I remember," I start. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you when I first found out. God, I'm sorry. I wasn't thinking about how this would affect you too," I say, tears glistening in my eyes.
"Liv, it's okay. And we gotta tell our parents," Spencer says, getting off my bed and walking toward the door after he got a text message.
"Liv, I, uh, gotta go home. I've got anthropology tomorrow," Spencer says, kissing my forehead, then walking out.
"Yeah, sure you do," I mumble to myself.
Getting ready for bed, I hear my phone chime. When I look at the notification, my eyes grow wide.
"Zayden Brown in prison after murdering former girlfriend, Emily Carter. Emily Carter was found with a gunshot wound to her head. Police found Zayden 10 miles away at LAX trying to flee the country. That's all police have shared."
What the fuck?
