Olivia sat on her bed, her heart racing from the argument with Spencer. The walls felt like they were closing in on her, each breath heavier than the last. She glanced at her phone, the screen dark and silent, a reminder of the words she wished she could take back. Her fingers trembled as she picked it up, scrolling through her contacts until she found Spencer’s name.

“Come on, please pick up,” she whispered, biting her lip as the phone rang.

“Hello?” His voice was cautious, and she could picture him standing there, unsure of what to say.

“Spencer,” she started, her voice barely above a whisper. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean everything I said.”

Silence hung in the air, thick and tense. She could almost hear him processing her words.

“Liv, I-”

“I regret saying I hated you,” she interrupted, tears pricking her eyes. “I wish it wasn’t like this. I wish we weren’t broken up and arguing all the time. I just…” She paused, trying to steady her breathing. “I don’t want to see you with anyone else. Especially not Alicia.”

“Olivia…” His voice softened, but she could hear the uncertainty there.

“It wasn’t supposed to be like this,” she continued, choking back a sob. “I thought we were different.”

“Liv, wait a second.”

Before she could respond, he spoke again, his tone shifting. “Alicia is in the car. The phone is on speaker.”

“What?” Her heart dropped as the realization hit. “Spencer, no-”

But the line went dead, his voice lost in the static. She threw her phone across the bed, the sound of it hitting the mattress barely registering. “Ugh!” she groaned, her hands clutching her hair as frustration bubbled inside her.

With a shaky breath, she picked up her phone again and dialed Simone’s number, her mind racing.

“Olivia! What’s up?” Simone’s cheerful voice greeted her.

“Simone, I just messed up. I told Spencer I hated him, that I wished I wasn’t pregnant with his child, and he had Alicia in the car when I was saying all of this!” Her voice cracked, and she felt the tears streaming down her face.

“Wait, what?!” Simone’s tone shifted to concern. “Olivia, you didn’t mean that, right?”

“No! I just… I was angry. I don’t want to feel like this! I love him, but I hate that he’s with her,” Olivia confessed, her voice breaking.

“Girl, you need to talk to him. You can’t let Alicia get in your head like this,” Simone urged, her voice steady. “Just breathe. You have to let him know how you feel.”

“Yeah, but what if I just made everything worse?” Olivia sank back onto her bed, burying her face in her hands.

“Call him back. You have to try. Don't let her win.”

With a deep breath, Olivia nodded, even though she knew Simone couldn’t see her. “Okay, I will. Thanks, Sim.”

“Anytime, Liv. I’m here for you.”

After hanging up, Olivia took a moment to compose herself, wiping her tears. She couldn’t let Alicia win. Not now.

Meanwhile, in Spencer’s car, Spencer’s expression had darkened after Olivia hung up. He didn’t know what to say, and Alicia could tell.

“Spencer, you’re quiet. What’s going on?” she asked, her voice laced with concern.

“We should talk,” he said, gripping the steering wheel a little too tightly.
