Ryken ran to the wall, pressing every button there was. They looked like medical ones, some had tubes attached that led to nothing but none of them opened the wall.

"Shit, it is meant to be here," he snarled, bashing on the wall.

My heart raced as I looked towards the door.

The running was getting quicker, the screeching getting closer.

"Is there a seam or something we can leverage it open from?" I asked.

Viking and Ryken looked, trying to find something. But there was nothing.

"Any chance he gave you that map hoping you would find yourself down here trusting it?" I wondered out loud.

"I thought that too but he disappeared from here somewhere and those creatures did too. They had to have somewhere to go. There is an exit here somewhere," Ryken murmured then started rifling through the room, destroying it.

"Start looking for anything that might tell us where the exit is," he ordered.

"And the creatures?" Dana snapped.

"Lock the door," he bit back.

Dana and I ran for the door and slammed it shut, locking it.

The others still turned the room upside down as we pressed against the door.

The creatures came up fast, banging on it hard. It groaned and rattled as they did and I clenched my teeth, digging my feet in as I pushed back against their force.

"Can we hurry it up please?" I grunted.

Even Dana looked like she was struggling.

Sweat beaded on my forehead as I fought the pressure on the door.

"Viking!" I gritted out as the door almost opened.

He snapped up from where he was moving the bed.

There was a panel under it.

But he didn't see it.

I frowned at Viking as he stood still, rigid, barely moving.

"Viking?" I asked, trying to get his attention. I needed him to hold the door so I could get to that panel.

I wasn't sure what was under it but it did not match the rest.

But Viking didn't move.

He was frozen, his eyes wide as they stared at the door.

"Freya," he whispered.

I froze too.

Even Ryken looked up from his frantic search through the cupboards on the far wall.

"What?" He asked.

Viking stayed staring at the door.

My heart clenched.

I didn't want to believe it but the way he stared with unshed tears in his eyes made me sure she was out there. As one of them. The creatures.

"She's one of the creatures?" Dana asked softly.

Viking nodded slowly.

Hope came up behind him, tears streaking down her cheeks from her eyes.

"Get away from the door," Viking ordered.

That had me back to reality.

"Viki-"

"Get away from the door!" he roared, shaking the room, his fists clenching.
