YEARS LATER
It’s been almost 10 years since Aaliyah’s death, Marshall finally got cleaned he had overdosed and it almost killed him, when he was in the hospital he thought about Kim, and his daughters and believed that these drugs weren’t worth it anymore
So he got cleaned and has been clean since then, him and kim got divorced after a few years together they just weren't a good match they were abusive and toxic for each other
Kim would cheat on marshall and marshall would cheat on kim, so many times Kim would try to take her life because of marshall so they got divorced and they got remarried again thinking that they could fix their problems but Marshall couldn’t take it anymore and filed for divorce
He now has three kids, three girls. Hailie is now a teenager, her cousin Alaina who is like a sister to her is close around the same age as Hailie and there’s whitney, she’s the baby of the family and is very loving
Marshall becoming a dad was one of the greatest things happening to him, Marshall still misses Aaliyah, he thinks of her everyday. Marshall still hasn’t seen the Rivera family in years the only time he has seen aaliyah’s family is during interviews or if they were conventions dedicated to aaliyah
The family forgave marshall all of them except whitney still, she said what she had to say to marshall and moved on but she still had the same anger and bitterness towards marshall

Marshall was in the studio working on some new songs, hailie was getting ready for school as she was getting ready she couldn’t find her charm bracelet
She went into her dad’s room and started looking around, she looked in his drawers and found nothing but clothes so she looked into his desk and saw photo album book
She got curious and opened and saw pictures of marshall with another woman who wasn’t her mother she looked through the book and also saw photos of Deshaun

Alaina came in and caught hailie looking through the books

“What are you doing?” Alaina asked
Hailis jumped out of fear

“Oh god! I thought you were dad”

“No, he’s downstairs, what are you doing?”

“I was trying to find my bracelet and so I came looking in here for it and I found this photo album, who’s this lady?” Hailie asked
Alaina walked over hailie and sat right next to her, they both looked through the photos

“She’s beautiful, she looks familiar though” Alaina said
Alaina looked in the desk drawers and saw three velvet boxes. Alaina opened them and looked at them, they were Aaliyah’s rings, after all these years marshall kept Aaliyah’s belongings he kept them in storage and never had the stomach to get rid of it

“Girls?” Marshall called out
Hailie and Alaina started panicking, they threw everything back in the drawers and quickly sat on the bed pretending to talk
Marshall walked into the room and was curious of what they were doing

“Hey what are y'all doing in here, i thought you were getting ready for school” marshall said

“We were but then felt like coming in your room” Alaina said smoothly

“Okay” Marshall said confusingly
So the whole day Alaina and Hailie’s minds were full thinking of those pictures
Nate was coming over for dinner and to watch the game with marshall, Kim was also coming over not only to join for dinner but because the girls were going home with her

Hailie and Alaina were talking and decided to ask nate about the mysterious women
It was almost dinner time and finally Nate made it, he and marshall hugged and then hugged the girls

“It’s great seeing you girls again” Nate said

“Hey uncle we need to talk to you” Hailie said as she hugged nate

“Yep it’s really important” Lainie added

“What…what about?” Nate asked, Marshall and Kim waited for a response then Hailie and Lainie started to push Nate upstairs “Oww! Where are we going?” nate asked with confusion
