5. Lines

"Cole!" I heard a familiar voice.

"Huh..?" I woke up from my sleep.

"Come on," Perrine said.

"What..what are you.. what I'm doing-"

"Come on, we agreed to explore the forest with Kingsley on their birthday," Perrine sat me up from my bed, which I was somehow back on.

"Wait..what.?" I looked at them, "your lying it's their birthday? Today? Right now? Like right right now?" I got up from my bed looking through around the room to see if I had a gift to give them.

"Gosh! Yes it is Cole. How could you forge- whatever it's fine just let's go meet him he's outside waiting for us."

"Wait..but I- I haven't apologized about yesterday I-"

"They don't want to talk about it, they said if you agree to forget about it they will too, they don't want to think about what you said is literal." Perrine spoke.

"I-okay." I shut up.

"Good let's go their waiting,"

"Hey guys!" Kingsley exclaimed, "come on let's go I'm so excited we haven't explored deep inside the forest in so long!"

As we started walking I couldn't not make up of what happened last night. Was I asleep the whole time? Did Clementine leave? Did I leave from the lake and I don't remember? Why was I back on my bed. Where was Clementine?

"Hey?" Perrine put their hand on my shoulder, "are you alright?"

"I-I'm fine I'm just sleepy I had a weird dream.." I straightened my back.

"Well okay try and to stay awake." Perrine walked along Kingsley.

"Here it is!" Kingsley put their hands on their hips infront of a small waterfall.

"It is really pretty." I admitted. "I wo-" I got cut off by a splash.

"Kingsley! You getting your clothes wet!" Perrine said loud enough for them to hear.

"It's my birthday let me swim with my clothes on!" They stuck their tongue out.

"Don't just stand there losers come in!" They said.

"Are you sure Kingsley I mean it might be really cold in there." Perrine looked at themselves and shivered slightly.

"I'll get in it" I laughed as I took off my shoes and entered the water with Kingsley.

"Get in Perrine! it's nice and cool," I told them.

"Yeah come on in. It's all good it's not that cold. It's not that warm. It's a perfect time to swim!" Kingsley said.

Perrine looked at themselves and looked behind and looked at the water kneeling down touching the water checking it's temperature, taking off their boots, and came swimming in front of us.

"It's not so bad," I smiled.

"Haha! Look at us swimming with our clothes on, isnt fun so try something you haven't done before," Kingsley laughed swimming.

"It's a little cold.." Perrine chuckled splashing water at Kingsley.

"Hey what the heck!" Kingsley started splashing water at both of us.

"Hey stop what did I do!" I laughed trying to dodge the water.

All of us started playing the in the water goofing around forgetting about yesterday. I sighed in relief I was glad we forgot about all of that from yesterday.

I was going to splash more water at Perrine when I saw their arm underwater. I couldn't make what it was but it looked like little red lines across their forearm. I titled my head still not understanding. Thinking it may be some scratches from a cat. I ignored it not thinking of it swimming some more.

Maybe today was all right. I was worked up about nothing.
