that night eliza had stayed with lyra in her bed on their tour bus. she was so confused and angry with chris, because he clearly was annoyed for some reason but he wasn't even speaking to her or giving her the light of day.

"i just- i don't know what i've done wrong," eliza sighed as she leant her head on lyras shoulder. lyra shrugged, eliza's head moving up with the movement.

"you've not done anything. i don't know why he's being so weird, he's just- being a man," lyra responded, "he's stupid for what he's doing and it's totally wrong and he's literally missing out on like the most incredible person. like for one, you're literally taylor swifts daughter, two, you're on a basically sold out world tour right not, third you're the like sweetest and most talented person to exist. so you just need to think-" lyra stopped talking when she heard a sharp intake of breath from eliza, "eliza..."

"lyra..."

"are you crying?" lyra sat up on the bed, causing eliza to also sit up. she looked at her bestfriend and smiled sadly.

"i just- i don't know why i'm crying because it's not like we'd even met or were even dating, like he probably doesn't even like me back. but it just hurts for some reason," eliza explained.

lyra picked up eliza's phone and passed it to the girl opposite her, "call your mom, she'll know what to say,"

eliza knew lyra was right. but she felt awkward calling her mom when she was hours away so she can cry over a boy that she's never actually met.

the phone rang for a few seconds, "hey eliza, you okay?"

eliza went to speak but a sob, yet also a loud laugh, left her lips. eliza was tired from the tour already and she was emotional, so she didn't know whether to laugh at the situation or to cry over it.

"hey, auntie t," lyra spoke for her.

"oh hi lyra. is everything okay?"
