After School

As Taehyung and Jimin walk down the street, the late afternoon sun casts long shadows across the pavement. The air is warm, but a sense of unease lingers between them.

Taehyung: "By the way, do you think Jungkook and Mr. Min are related?"

Jimin: (raises an eyebrow) "I don't think so. If they were, I'm sure he'd have told me something by now. What makes you ask that?"

Taehyung: (frowning slightly) "It's just... when we were in the teacher's office earlier, Mr. Min told Jungkook that they'd 'talk about it at home.' I don't know, it felt strange, like maybe they're more connected than we know."

Jimin: (shrugging) "You probably misheard. I bet he said 'school' and you just thought 'home' because of how tense the situation was. But even if they were related, it wouldn't explain why Jungkook's acting like such a jerk toward you."

Taehyung: (sighs, kicking a pebble down the road) "Yeah... maybe. Or maybe not. I can't shake the feeling that something's off. Jungkook is really weird. I don't know him personally; he's only been at our school for two days, and already he acts like I'm his mortal enemy. Yesterday, he flat-out told me that the reason he hates me is because I 'came into his life.' What does that even mean?"

Jimin: (laughing softly) "Yeah, that's super weird. Maybe you unknowingly beat him in some competition or embarrassed him in front of someone. People hold grudges over the stupidest things. Honestly, who knows? But don't let it get to you. We've got a holiday tomorrow, and the day after, we've got a test. Worry about that instead of whatever Jungkook's problem is."

Taehyung: (forcing a smile) "You're right. I shouldn't waste my energy on him. I just don't get why someone would hate me for literally existing."

Jimin: (grinning) "Maybe it's because you're too perfect. People get jealous, you know."

Taehyung: (laughing lightly) "Oh, please. You're the one with a secret relationship with the hottest teacher in school. Who's really the envy of everyone?"

Jimin: (blushing slightly) "Hey, keep that on the down-low! I don't want people talking about me and Mr. Min."

They reach the corner where they usually part ways.

Taehyung: "Anyway, my parents aren't home today, which is why I walked with you. After the holiday, they'll be back, so I won't be able to hang out like this. Sorry in advance."

Jimin: (waving it off) "No worries. We'll catch up during lunch as usual. bye, Tae!"

Taehyung: Bye!"

Taehyung opens the door to his room and freshens up. He returns to the plush, elegantly furnished living room, settling onto an opulent sofa with the TV remote in hand. When he's not around his friends or at school, his mood shifts dramatically.

The living room is tastefully decorated with expensive artwork, sleek furniture, and pristine carpets, yet the atmosphere feels heavy with loneliness. A high-end clock ticks quietly on the wall, underscoring Taehyung's sense of frustration and isolation. Despite the luxury surrounding him, his expression reveals deep melancholy, highlighting a profound disconnect between his wealth and emotional well-being.

Taehyung: (sighs deeply, slouching on the sofa) "Ugh, another day, another mess. Why does everything feel so off lately?" (Pauses, staring at the TV without really seeing it.) "School's a joke. Just a bunch of pointless assignments and fake smiles. I can't even talk to my friends about this stuff. They wouldn't get it."

(Takes a deep breath, looking around the empty room.) "I wish Mom and Dad were here. They always seem too busy to notice. It's like I'm just... here. Alone." (Runs a hand through his hair in frustration.)

 Taehyung: "Why does it feel like no one really understands? Maybe I'm just overreacting. Or maybe... maybe I'm just invisible." (Glances at the clock, then back at the TV.) "I guess it's just one of those days. Hopefully, tomorrow will be better. Or maybe I'll just keep pretending everything's okay."
