The classroom goes silent. All eyes are on Mr. Min as he prepares to announce the name of the top scorer. Taehyung's heart races, a sense of dread filling him. Jimin glances between Mr. Min and Taehyung, holding his breath.

Mr. Min: "...Jeon Jungkook."

The room erupts into a murmur of surprise. Taehyung's face pales, his mind unable to process what he just heard.

Taehyung: (whispering) "Jungkook...?No, it can't be. It's not true

Jimin: (whispering) "Wow, Jungkook? Didn't see that coming."

Taehyung's mind spun in disbelief.

Taehyung: (frowning) "Yeah, it's really unexpected. I can't believe Jungkook beat me."

Jimin: (trying to comfort) "It's okay, Tae. You still did really well. One test doesn't define everything."

But Taehyung wasn't listening. His thoughts raced, filled with frustration and confusion.

Taehyung: (frustrated, under his breath) "How did he manage to top the test? I've always been at the top, and now he comes out of nowhere and beats me. It doesn't add up

Jungkook, sitting a few desks away, overheard and turned to face Taehyung, his eyebrows knitting in confusion.

Jungkook: "What are you talking about?"

Taehyung: (raising his voice) "Don't play dumb. You're always hiding behind that hoodie and mask. You never study with anyone else. How can I trust that you didn't cheat?"

Jimin: (whispering urgently) "Taehyung, stop it. You're disturbing the class. We'll talk about it later, after class."

But Taehyung wasn't willing to let it go.

Taehyung: "Meet me after class."

after class

As the bell rang, students began filing out of the classroom. Taehyung waited near the door, eyes scanning for Jungkook. The moment Jungkook tried to leave, Taehyung grabbed his wrist, pulling him upstairs to the quieter part of the building.

Jungkook: (startled) "What the hell? Let go of my hand!"

Taehyung: (angry) "Why are you doing this? Bullying me wasn't enough—now you have to ruin my academics too?"

Jungkook: (bewildered) "What are you talking about?"

Taehyung: (voice trembling) "I'm talking about your grades. I'm sure you cheated on the test. You joined our class not long ago, and you don't even pay attention in class!"

Jungkook: (defensive, but calm) "Believe what you want, but I didn't cheat."

Taehyung's frustration reached a breaking point. His voice cracked, eyes teary from the mounting pressure.

Taehyung: (teary-eyed, hurt) "You know what, Jungkook? Maybe I wouldn't feel so worthless if you hadn't come into my life. It's like your presence has just made everything worse! Why did you have to come into my already messed-up life? Not everyone's life is as easy as yours!"

Jungkook's expression darkened, and his fists clenched.

Jungkook: (angry) "You think my life is easy?" His voice was low, trembling with pent-up rage. "I should be the one asking that question

Without waiting for a reply, Jungkook stormed off, leaving Taehyung standing alone, his heart pounding in his chest.

Taehyung: (confused, to himself) "What do you mean...?"

jungkooks house

As he pushed open the door, the loud, venomous argument between his parents was already echoing through the house. His father's booming voice, laced with anger, drowned out his mother's weak protests.

Jungkook froze in his tracks when he heard a crash—a shattering noise that sent chills down his spine. Then, the sound of his mother's terrified scream.

His heart raced as he sprinted into the living room. The sight in front of him made his stomach twist: his father, Jungki, stood over his mother, his face contorted with rage. The coffee table was overturned, shattered glass scattered across the floor. His mother lay on the floor, curled up, shielding herself from the next blow.

Jungkook's Mother: (pleading) "Stop it! Please, just stop!"

jungkook stood rooted to the spot, his mind racing. He wanted to scream, to pull his father away, to make it all stop. But fear and helplessness paralyzed him. He could only watch as his mother curled into a ball on the floor, her sobs mixing with the harsh, angry grunts of his father.

Jungki: (growling) "Clean this mess up. NOW."

Slowly, she rose to her feet, her movements sluggish and unsteady. She began to gather the shattered pieces of the lamp and pick up the broken furniture with a sense of mechanical resignation

Jungki: (noticing Jungkook) "Oh, you're here. Help her clean."

Jungkook hesitated, his body tensing with anger and shame.

Jungki: (roaring) "DO YOU NEED AN INVITATION TO CLEAN THIS UP?!"
