Taking his hand, he pulled me to my feet, dusting me off like a parent would as he circled me.
"Your aunt still has her card on her, so we can find her."
Asking for a name, I watched as he swiped over the screen with one finger. My aunt's name was left, then revealing a dot with location.
"There!"
Then he spits an address out. He started talking to Ro about heading to the lighthouse for reinforcements and to plan a rescue mission. They didn't know if she was in danger or not, but they never want to take a chance of losing anyone, which I appreciated. I didn't tell him I knew the address though so when the moment came, I could slip away. I just got her back in my life; I can't lose her like I have everyone else just because he wants to take his time going to save her.
"Hey, Korbin!" Yelling to him. "I need to run to my house real quick, it's just down the hill."
"Ummm... Okay, take someone with you please, and be quick about it."I nodded that I would do as he said but as soon as I couldn't see them, I ran to the garage to get my bike. Only one destination in mind, my high school. I had no clue what I was doing but I was going to just figure it out as I go.
I've been to school this early before but this time it was different; all the lights were out and not a soul in sight. This was not normal for 7:30 on a Monday morning. I rode as close to the door before jumping from my bike, letting it fall into the grass. Thinking back to the screen with her location, trying to remember. The school was too large to begin looking in every room. I closed my eyes and there it was. Like my mind had taken a picture, it showed she was hiding in the band room. Running down the halls silently but hastily, I whispered out her name in hopes she was near, maybe answer me back. Then..."Sky...?"
There, the room on the right. I stopped just before the door to slowly enter in case of any danger or a trap. Looking around slowly I see my aunt in the corner of the room beaten and bleeding. Fuck, what did they do to her? She tried to sit up causing her to wince in pain telling me it's not as bad as it looks. She told me to go over to the desk and find the first aid kit. That would work until she could get back to the lighthouse. Running over, searching for one when she yelled telling me it was in the bottom right, under a red folder. Shocked that she could know that I looked where she said and under a large red folder was an old white first aid kit. Shaking my head for more unexplainable things today I grabbed it and ran back over to her. I watched her in amazement as she bandaged herself up, ripping tape with her teeth and speaking in a language I didn't recognize.
She looked me up and down. "Why are you here and where is Korbin?"
"I slipped away from them after the fight once they found your location."
Shaking her head while she kept tending to her wounds. "You are just as stubborn as your mother!"
"I'm sorry aunt Nes, I had to come find you to make sure you were okay."
"I told him to keep you close, damn it. Looks like we have run out of time Skyler dear, I need you to unlock your memories." Grabbing my hands to look mw in the eyes. "Deep down inside you, I know they are there! It's not just your memories but our bloodlines memories. They are in all of us deep down, you just have to unlock them. Training should have slowly unlocked them but there is no more time to wait. I am sorry sweet child, but this won't be pleasant." Releasing her grip to stand. "Ask for help from our ancestors and it may help lessen the pain. I will not be able to help take any of your pain because this will be your sacrifice that you will have to endure." Tears stained her shirt turning the red black. "I love you Sky," placing her hand over my heart. "I'll always be right here."I could hear very little hope in her voice. I just didn't know what to do. How could I unlock something I have no recollection of at all, then no training as she said? I didn't even know I had ancestors that passed memories down to me so how was I supposed to unlock something no one's ever talked about.
