Chapter 03: night party
---
When I went back upstairs, I encountered my parents and Miss Wilson again. He had signed some papers, and I was officially imprisoned in this strange camp...
I almost went back to my warm home and watched movies all summer, but I didn't for two reasons. The first reason is that I would definitely be bored in an empty house all summer; the second reason is my desire to face the world around me and overcome my introverted nature.
I truly wanted to make new friends and meet new people, as well as gain new experiences and perhaps have an exciting adventure. Perhaps.. but the adventure I ended up having was never what I expected. It was literally something hard to believe; something fantastical that you only hear about in Disney fairy tales. It was something I never thought could actually exist outside the movies I was used to watching.
But how did I find out? To find out, let's take a step back to the evening of my first day at the strange camp. After I took my things and moved my bag to the room where I would be staying...
At that moment, I struggled to open the door since I was carrying several things in my hands. When the door finally opened, the room's view appeared simple as I had expected. There were two beds in the middle of the room and a small table between them. As I entered the room, I looked around. The walls were simple wooden ones with some strange scratches, but I didn't pay much attention. I thought for a moment that they were just minor scratches resulting from the years since the place was quite old; but that didn't mean it wasn't impressive-in fact, it was the opposite.
I placed my bag on the bed on the left side and shifted my gaze to my roommate's bed. Yes, if you're wondering, I had a roommate. If someone had told me about a month ago that I would have a roommate, I would have laughed hard in their face. But now everything had changed, and I didn't know what would change next.
Her bed was meticulously arranged, with beautiful silk covers that I wanted to touch badly but didn't. We must respect others' privacy.
As for the walls on her side, they were completely covered with a type of pink stickers and others of a music band I didn't recognize, as I'm not into following music bands.
I was curious to know who my roommate was. I hoped she wouldn't be arrogant or unwelcoming to my presence or a stuck-up girl like Lucy in our class; you know, that blonde girl who bullies at school. I really dislike that type of girl. Suddenly, my reverie was interrupted by the sound of keys being moved near the door. For a moment, I knew who was behind it. Surely, it would be my roommate.
I felt nervous and gripped my fingers tightly, intending to speak kindly with her and break through my excessive shyness. When the door opened, I almost wanted to retract all my words and return to my introverted nature. But that wasn't the case. It was Vicky herself with her curly blonde hair, wearing headphones and listening to loud music. At that moment, the tension left my face, and I was very relieved that she was my roommate.
Vicky made you feel comfortable with her even without speaking. She was a sweet girl, and I had no doubt she had a big heart. At that moment, she looked at me as if she had just noticed my presence, and her face transformed into surprise and a kind of joy with her wide smile as usual.
- Mary!
Her voice was so loud that my face cringed from the echo that reverberated around. Her eyes widened in surprise, and she quickly walked towards me with a smile on her face.
- I can't believe it, are you my new roommate?
- Yes, it seems I am.
I smiled lightly at her and felt greatly relieved from before. I felt she would be a good friend. She must be a friend to everyone since she was social and a bit noisy.
