From 50 to hero (Kaiju no 8 x Male OC)

Officers

Currently all the new officers of the 3rd division were gathered in a room for their official inauguration into the defence corps. Mina was on stage with her usual stoic demeanour. She had finished most of the administrative briefs and was now moving on to present some awards

"The entrance exam top examinee goes to Kikoru Shinomiya." Mina announces

Ever since that day of getting saved by captain Denmon. Kikoru kept replaying the scene in her mind. Apart from her infatuation with his looks. Kikoru had never witnessed such overwhelming power in person before, she had been trained by her parents but she was never actually there at the battlefield when they fought kaiju.

Kikoru knew Captain Mina was also very strong but a part of her wanted to be taught by me as she wanted to be taught by the strongest , but she knew that I basically don't accept anyone into my division.

After hearing her name called by captain Mina, she proudly made her way onto stage.

"As of today I appoint all 27 of you as defence corps officers." Mina said in a commanding voice

"On behalf of the 27 new members, I swear to fight with my life!" Kikoru says saluting Mina

"You were a big help during the incident after the examination. Because of you there were no victims. I offer you my thanks again." Mina says

In Kikoru's mind she knows she wasn't the one who should be credited. Images of Kafka in her Kaiju form and me with my aura plastered themselves in her mind. She realises she still hasn't asked him about his kaiju form yet either.

At that moment the door to the auditorium opens and Kafka tiptoes in sheepishly

"Sorry for coming in halfway hehe....."

"I had him absent from the officer appointment ceremony, as he's joining as a cadet." Mina explains before starting the ceremony proper

She takes a deep breath before starting her speech

"My fellow comrades. The number of monster and their fortitude is increasing. Not only that abnormal situations like kaiju's coming back after their core is destroyed is becoming a norm. Let me be the first to tell you that your life is not guaranteed as a member of the corps. But I ask that you lend me your strength. I vow to be your sword and shield in battle always fighting alongside you."

"Mina! I'll be right there beside you soon!" Kafka absentmindedly blurts out

The whole cohort begins laughing at him as he made a fool of himself

"Kafka Hibino.... For speaking without permission and addressing a superior officer casually 100 push ups." Mina orders

Kafka's face goes white with shock. Before he immediately knocks it down

"Before I leave anyone have anything else for me?" Mina asks

There was a long silence and Mina prepared to leave. But then one hand shot in the air

"Shinomiya. What is it?" Mina asks

"I mean no disrespect with this request captain Ashiro but can I please apply to the 0 division!" Kikoru says after lots of deliberation

The whole crowd is filled with murmurs as they know that no one has been accepted to the 0 division before.

"0 division huh.... I'm afraid captain Denmon is not available today, but I can put in a request for you but I can make no guarantees. Until me or another officer gets back to you about this matter hold up here for now." Mina says
