From 50 to hero (Kaiju no 8 x Male OC)

Entrance exams

Today was the day for the third division officer selection test. While the physical proficiency portion was going on, Vice captain Hoshina was going through the list of candidates with potential while Mina sorted out the stack of papers on her desk. The standout one was the son of general Isao, Hikaru Shinomiya, but this year's selection was apparently stacked with talent. As Mina skimmed through all the participants particulars, one caught her attention. They had just increased the maximum age for the selection exams to 33, but Mina didn't expect Kafka to apply again. But deep down Mina wasn't expecting much from him. She put down her papers and dismissed Hoshina to let him go carry out his duties as part of the selection exam committee. Hoshina then left to brief the participants about stage 2 of the exam

Stage 2 of the exam was simple. All you had to do was exterminate all the kaiju within the training grounds.. There was one Honju and multiple yoju so it should be simple enough for newbies. When Kafka heard this he was distraught as Leno told him that the exam was kaiju disposal not extermination. Him and Leno bicker for a while before Hoshina calls back their attention.

He calls for the participants to enter the room to change into the defence force combat suits.

Meanwhile,

"Denmon-sama wake up. It's time for the second stage of the entrance exams." Mizari said shaking me to wake up

"Urghh.... Okay I'm up." I groggily sit up in bed and rub the sleep out of my eyes

Mizari was holding a tray with my toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash and a cup of water as well as a bowl of my favourite cereal. I quickly do my dental hygiene things before I start eating the breakfast.

After I finish, I slowly get out of bed. On the clothes hanger in front of me was my uniform in the order of how I put it on, as well as a bottle of cologne on a small table next to it. I put on my compression shirt and cargo shorts while Mizari helps me put on the jacket with the special trident printed on the left sleeve. I do up my boots and then Mizari sprays the key parts of my body with cologne. And like that I completed my whole morning routine in 10 minutes. That was Mizari for you, she was so effective she knew what to do before I asked her to do it, which is why she is the one and only member of the 0 division.

"Thanks Mizari." I say before heading out of the room

"You're welcome Denomn-sama. I shall commence the cleaning of your room. " She says with a slight bow

"Yeah. take your time." I say with a lazy wave while walking out the room

I make my way out of my room to the control room where there were a bunch of monitors to watch the exam unfold.

Short timeskip

I stroll into the room with a yawn. The selection committee people all came to attention and saluted me as I enter, I lazily salute back while walking to the screen. The participants were putting on their defence force suits. Somehow Mizari knew exactly how long it would take for me to get here, she truly is out of this world.

"Nice of you to join us Sae. Did you have a good sleep?" Mina said unamused by my get there just on time attitude

"Yeah it was pretty good." I say with another yawn

"Let's see here. 8%, 14%,15%,18%. Woah 46% that's platoon leader level. " I say mildly impressed looking at the screen

"As expected of the daughter of General Isao, she is probably the best prodigy the corps have seen." Hoshina mused

"Bleh talent. Lame." I say showing my mild dislike for talented people, as I was once a talentless lump of human

"HUUUUUUUH?! He seriously got a 0." Hoshina burst out laughing
