Chapter Two
...Izuku hummed a song to himself as he waited for the spaghetti to boil. Since he was Izuku Midoriya, he couldn't leave his house to get food, so whenever he ordered food, he would receive it under the allias of Kenzo Arima. Combining his new identity with his long hair and peach fuzz, he was able to stay under the radar. Being stuck inside, however, was still a requirement even after two years of hiding away from society.
Both he and Ochako agreed it would be a foolish risk to have Izuku leave for the outside world. If he was found out, then a trail between Kenzo and Izuku would be revealed, and that was something they both wished to avoid not just for the love between the couple but also for Eri as well.
Izuku didn't regret his choice to leave behind the world, even after two years, he knew he had made the right choice. The world didn't need him, and he wouldn't have made a difference, at least in a positive manner. While he could have tried to fix things but hunting down Reo Yuki, Shigaraki, Nine, or even Aka himself, he had decided to raise Eri.
Over the past two years, she had grown in power and in height as both he and Ochako became Eri's tutors. Over the course of two years, Eri learned to read at a high school level along with being ahead of her age demographic in almost every class. She was a prodigy and one that Izuku was very proud of.
He still did his best to socialize with Eri like an older brother, watching shows with her and drawing, which is something Eri adored doing. The house had been covered in different drawings done by either Eri or Izuku. Ochako occasionally joined in, but she had picked up a reading hobby.
As a child, she spent a good amount of time at the public library, and with the isolation for two years, she found a new investment in reading. Sometimes, she'd sit down with Eri and Izuku and read them stories, which always lit a passionate fire in Eri's eyes. Books amazed her, and she enjoyed them almost as much as she did drawing.
"Dinner will be ready soon, make sure you set the table." Izuku called out to Eri. He didn't mind setting the table, but he also understood that Eri needed some smaller responsibilities that were managable. She couldn't pick up those responsibilities at school or with friends, so Izuku did his best to create an environment where she could grow and improve.
Eri's humming was enough for Izuku to figure she was setting the table. Despite being inside a majority of the time, Eri still smiled. She was happy with her life, and while it wasn't something glamorous to keep the smile and protect her, it meant everything to him.
That and, of course, his loving girlfriend Ochako Uraraka, who stood behind him embracing her love. "My darling chef, you're food's taste better live up to the smell." She joked as she kissed his neck passionately.
"Anything for the adorable Ochako." He said, turning away from the food as he embraced her back, picking her up and kissing her lips as she blushed. The pair had grown even closer during the past two years as they spent more time together and helped raise Eri. It was a change of pace from having to hunt down beings like Nine or fight against villan kings. Things were much simpler, and they both appreciated their new lives.
A series of knocks stopped Izuku from finishing cooking or kissing Ochako. "I'll get it." He said, kissing Ochako on the forehead before removing his apron and walking towards the door. It was an unwritten rule that only Izuku would answer the door, after all, he was their protector. While he remained indoors a majority of the time, he hadn't slacked on his training. He had made leaps and bounds of improvements to his abilities and physical capabilities.
Danger Sense, his ability to sense danger before struck, wasn't going off, so Izuku didn't think he was in all that much danger. The snowfall had covered most of the roads, so Izuku wasn't sure why someone would bother making the trek all the way to his estate. It would be a death sentence for anyone walking, and if someone was driving, they must despise their car.
He looked at his hands and prepared himself as the knocking continued but grew weaker. Izuku wasn't certain who would be outside, but he didn't expect anything out of the ordinary. He lived a mundane and peaceful life away from the struggles of both heroes and their villains. There was no reason anyone from his old life should be here or know where he was.
He turned the handle and opened the door as the wind howled like a pack of wolves. In the center of the door frame stood a man. He was wounded blood pouring from his mouth and several open wounds. His hair was half white and half red, and he seemed to have be on death's door. Izuku knew this man as his old classmate and friend, Shoto Todoroki.
In the distance, he thought he saw a figure walking into the distance. Izuku wasn't sure. With the current temperature, it would be impossible for anyone to survive out in the frozen lands for long.
"Shoto." Izuku murmured as thoughts of Bakugo's death on Tartarus flashed through his mind. The past he left behind had found him, and that realization was terrifying. He wasn't sure how Shoto found him or what trouble he was in. He knew no one could have reported him yet that didn't change the fact that someone from his past was here at his front door.
Despite not keeping in contact with Shoto, he wouldn't let his friend die. He picked up Shoto in his arms and gently carried him inside, shutting the door as he carried him to the couch. "I won't let you die." Izuku promised steeling his body as for the first time in two years he was helping someone besides Eri and Ochako.
