Chapter Six
...

Fifty-five years ago only around three hundred miles away from Izuku’s home stood a forest and a factory. The factory had a chemical accident that caused the forest to be contaminated by a deadly rot. The rot had spread from tree to tree infecting all it touched like a flock of rodents on the prowl for the crumbs left over from the darker days.

Over the past Fifty-five years, heroes had traveled to the forest. However, they never stayed for long as the rot seemed to match the heroes ferocity, battling against all efforts to put a stop to healing the forest. It actively sought to continue the spread of its deadly disease as it twisted and snarled about.

Once the great winter started, the woods finally submitted to a new master. The rot bowing its head to the frost devil Reo Yuki, who chose this spot to stage his revenge upon society.

He used his powers to create something that would be both difficult to find and easy to defend. Due to the chemical spill it acted as one of the few places heroes wouldn't patrol. In the new age of peace there was no reason for heroes to save a forest to gain recognition, and Reo Yuki used that to his advantage and in particular the great forgotten lake which he made his castle.

Deep underneath the forgotten lake that had long frozen over sat the base of operations for the Legions Of Reo Yuki. Former criminals who had once sided with the league had gathered to hide from All Might, pleading their lives to Reo Yuki and his power. They praised Reo as if he were a God and a savior seeing him as the only true pathway to salvation.

Beneath the lake, large frozen glaciers held the lakes frozen surface above their heads like a dome. The layer of ice was thick enough to avoid sensors as the molecular structure of the ice was as powerful as diamonds. For anyone besides All Might, it would be absolutely unbreakable. While that alone was key to the survival of Reo Yuki's new army it was the power of his ice that was so unique. His magnificent and range of ice techniques allowed him to push the boundaries of his quirk much further than he should have been able too.

Kendo Rappa had once declared loyalty to Reo Yuki, but after Izuku Midoriya killed his master Overhaul and then crippled the remnants of the Yakuza he had lost all purpose. During that time, he had been approached by the hooked chain user known in Reo Yuki's organization as Krampus. He had extended a hand and brought him here for a chance at revenge. He planned on killing Izuku Midoriya himself. However, Krampus had dropped off Shoto Todoroki at Izuku's house. Despite the urge to crush the house as long as Shoto was there, Reo Yuki would not allow Kendo to make a move on Izuku.

A loud and exotic horn bellowed and echoed through the frozen halls as people moved towards the grand throne where Reo Yuki was waiting to address his followers. Kendo blended in with the crowd of mostly weaker individuals who wanted to witness their Godly guardian for themselves.

As they made their way into the Throne Room, Kendo had to crane his neck to see Reo Yuki. He had grown since his fight in Tartarus, the power of his ice had seemed to grow rapidly. However, that had the side effect of making him more immobile. While he was a patient man, part of the reason he had stopped halfway through Japan was the cost. He couldn't move his massive body to Tokyo to crush the Prime Minister and All Might.

Yet despite his immobility, he was muscular, like a giant mutated beast that radiated power. He constantly used his quirk to freeze half of Japan, and that required him to expend energy, yet this was managable for him to do.

Kendo looked at the throne, seeing the frozen cell where Re-Destro had been imprisoned, a warning to those who would oppose him that he could crush them. Kendo had heard of Re-Destro from Chromostasis's plans to take Deika City however to see him so helpless brought a smile to his masked face.

"I gathered you all here to tell you that the moment of truth is soon upon us." Reo Yuki's voice was deep and commanded obedience. Kendo had witnessed many men who claimed power try to speak the way Reo Yuki had, and none could match up to Reo Yuki's vocal power.

"Spies in the capital have alerted us that the esteemed Prime Minster wishes to hunt me down, he believes he and his heroes can kill me." Reo Yuki explained his massive hands slamming onto his frozen throne.

The crowd erupted into roars of outrage, chants calling for Aka's head, and retribution echoed much to Reo Yuki's amusement. Holding up a single hand, he silenced the crowd in an instant showcasing the power he had over his people.

"We shall prepare, and by the time the aire recovers, I will convert him and guide him to the path of power." Reo declared, his words met with cheers and applause. The energy in the crowd was thick as if it could take on a form of its own, it's existence like a virus spreading from person to person throughout the cavern.

The identity of the aire was a secret in Reo Yuki's inner circle, but to his followers, the aire was the next Reo Yuki. Kendo knew that the aire was Shoto Todoroki, considering his rise in popularity despite being just a student he was a valued choice. Krampus had let it spill that Shoto was the grandson of Reo Yuki, but Kendo didn't believe him. Considering the reputation that Shoto had accumulated, he wouldn't take over a criminal empire like Reo Yuki.

He wasn't obsessed with Reo Yuki, but he would fight for the giant. The being was the only thing left for the enemies of the Second Era Of Peace, his power a rallying call for the disfranchised and disillusioned members of society.

Kendo saw something move from the corner of his eye, and he felt something familiar. It was as if he were near Chromostasis, yet when he looked, he didn't see the former temporary Yakuza boss. These weird feelings would one day resolve themselves, he knew that in the meantime, he would have to remain strong. The battle that lay before him would test his strength and his ability to protect his new leader.
