The dry leaves crunched under my boots as I led Toosk and Wayne deeper into the forest, moving past and between trees. "It should be around here..."
"He's really hiding if we have to go this deep into the forest!" Wayne exclaims.
"This deep?" I turned to my right to face him with an odd look. "This doesn't even touch the definition of 'deep' to me!" I scoffed and ran to the dimming sunlight that parted the trees in half; it led me to the cliff. "Over here, guys!"
They came up behind me and looked down.
The building seemed unoccopied, like eveyone left or were just taking a break.
"This is it," Toosk muttered matter-of-factly as he loomed down at the building. "This is Pierre's place."
"So now what?" Wayne asks him while turning his lead to look at him
He straightened up. "We make sure to see if he is alive or if someone else is taking over his place."
"So you guys are actually gonna break into the building?" I gave them a worried look.
"How else are we gonna know?" Toosk shrugged. "This is our chance--it's better to get caught than get attacked and killed unexpectedly." He sat on the edge of the cliff and began to slide down. At least it wasn't a massive cliff, it was just like a slope.
Wayne and I followed him down.
"Okay, so Wayne--" Toosk turned to the blond man, who was dusting himself, after he stood up. "--are you okay going alone?"
"Me?" Wayne made an offended look and pointed to himself. "You're gonna send only me in there?!"
"No, no, no--" The leader waved his hands in the air, like as if he was frantically erasing what he just said. "--we all are going in there, but are you okay being seperate from us?"
"Why are you gonna do that?"
"Because this guy might get lost." Toosk nudged me a bit.
"I'm not a little kid," I told him.
Toosk looked at me. "Still, you're new to this." He turned back to Wayne. "Okay?"
Wayne sighed and said begrudgingly, "Okay." He walked towards the building and into it, which surprisingly was unlocked.
"And you're coming with me. Let's go." I followed Toosk into the building.
The inside of the building had a long, white hallway, which was bright and empty.
"I hate these hallways...," Toosk muttered to himself as we were silently walking down in them.
"So why do you want to go in here then?" I asked him.
"You weren't suppose to hear that," he snapped while glared at me.
"Well, okay then." I turned my gaze away from him.
We walked around the hallways, with my hand on my gun the whole time. All we just found were just more and more and more white hallways, turn after turn after turn.
"Okay, so we've been walking around here for at least more than thirty minutes and we found nothing," I told him, halting in my steps; I looked at him as he kept walking. "Are we done now?"
Toosk looked behind his shoulder at me. "No, this can't be empty!" He turned away. "Unless this is a trap..."
"Well, there were people outside of this building today, so there are people here..."
"Maybe not actually here right now, though." Toosk groans. He then turned his body around fully to face me. "Maybe we just came at a wrong time--"
We heard footsteps echoing to our direction, from behind me.
"Shoot, someone's here," I whispered, now having a watchful eye at my surroundings.
"That's good... Now we know that there is some civilization here..." Toosk backed up, pointing what seenmed like a high-tech gun at the direction of where the footsteps were coming from.
I pulled out my huge gun from my holster as I turned around to face the direction of the sound and placed it on my shoulder while cocking it, getting ready to fire.
"Nice gun; you kill giants?" Toosk asked from behind me.
"Shut up, I hunt," I snapped.
Then a slim silhouette appeared in front of us.
"That's not Pierre at all," Toosk pointed out.
I looked behind my shoulder to see him. "Then who is it then?"
He had a shocked look on his face. "I don't know. But whoever it is, it's gone."
I turned my head around sharply, seeing the place where the person was at now empty. "No one can't leave that fast. It must have powers..." I began to turn around, searching for him or her.
Suddenly, something fell on me. I tumbled to the ground, trying to escape from what felt like a sleek rope, that I immediately registered as a snake; I was being attacked by a snake. "Oh shoot, oh shoot, oh shoot!" I tried to grab my gun, but it was already out of my reach, since I dropped it when I feel down. I struggled to get the thing off, but it kept on getting tighter and tighter and tighter. "TOOSK!!!" I threw a few punches at it, but I wasn't able to hit it. Then I was dragged to the wall, getting my back slammed when I hit the wall. I looked down at my waist and saw two black, gloved hands clasped on me. My face grew pale.
"Who are you?" Toosk shouted randomly.
I followed the arms that were on me, which led to a woman dressed in black, like a ninja. But the weird thing was that she had a great grasp on me even though she was five feet away from me. How? I then made the connection: her arms were stretched insanely.
"What are you guys doing here?" the lady asked Toosk.
"I asked the question first: Who are you?" he asked her back.
She sighed. "I'm Mitty, okay? There."
"Why did you attack him?" Toosk pointed to me.
I looked at Tuukka, trying to tell him to get me out of here with just only my eyes.
"Hey, my turn to ask a question," Mitty told him.
"Okay, go ahead."
"What are you guys doing here?"
"We're here looking for Pierre Mustanen. Why did you attack him?" He pointed back at me for a bit.
"Because I assumed that you guys were going to attack me."
"Nooo..." Toosk scrunched up his face. "...we wouldn't do that, but we would only do that if you attacked us."
"Well, it's kinda late for that fact now. But with your guns out and everything, it gave me the impression that you guys were gonna kill me." She tilted her head to the side.
"Sorry about that." He made a flat line with his mouth.
"Can you let go of me now?" I squeaked with gritted teeth.
Mitty looked down at me. "Oh, yea, sorry." She pulled her arms back to their normal length.
I jumped to my feet and quickly swiped my gun from the ground.
"Why are you here?" Toosk asks Mitty.
"Because...there are a lot of great valuables here..." She shrugged.
"So you're here to steal?"
"Yea. Make money. That stuff."
Toosk stepped closer to her. "You work with Pierre?"
Mitty immediately made a disgusted look. "Hell, no. I hate that guy."
"Don't worry, same here." Toosk rasied his hand in agreement.
"You freaked me out," I randomly tell Mitty.
Mitty gave me a weird look. "Well, thank you for that comment there."
I dipped my head down and looked up at her. "I was meaning to say: What's with the arms? I thought you were a snake."
"I have flexiblity powers. Have a problem with that?"
I straightened my neck. "Now I don't."
"Good. I'm thankful for them because they make my job a whole lot easier." She placed her hands on her fists.
"Yea, you juked out two guys with powers." Toosk chuckled. "Imagine guys without any powers."
"They'd never catch me." Mitty smirked. "What powers do you guys have?"
I cringed a bit, not wanting to tell my powers to her.
Toosk raised his gun in the air. "This."
The temporal weight on my shoulders left me when Toosk came in and practically saved me by telling talking first; I tried to hide my upcoming laugh as I saw his gun. "You call that supernatural?"
"Aren't you blind?" Mitty snapped at me. "His hand is a gun!" She rushed up to Toosk and exaimned it in the moonlight. "That is so cool!"
"Your hand can turn into a gun?" I exclaimed, slack-jawed.
"Yea," he answered with a smirk.
"Nice, I'd love that." I rolled my eyes. "Wouldn't have to be carrying this monster around." I raised my gun into the air.
"What's your guys' names?" Mitty asked, looking at both of us, as she stepped around from him.
"I'm Toosk," Toosk answered.
"And I'm Captain," I told her.
"Okay..." She nodded her head.
"You want to join us?" Toosk asked Mitty.
She made a puzzled look. "Join you guys with what?"
He frowned. "Well...trying to find Kari..."
"Why would you want to find him? I thought you hate him." She crossed her arms.
"What's worse: finding that dude and knowing what he's up to and where he's at or having an unexpected attack by him?" He extended his arms out by his sides.
"Ah, I get what you're saying." She nodded her head with thought. "I'd take the first one."
"See?" Toosk smiled then looked at me. "You okay with her joining us?"
I gave him an odd look. "Us? I'm already joined with you guys?"
"Yea."
I shrugged. "I guess that's fine--"
"What the hell are you guys doing just talking..." Wayne stopped walking and his voice faded when he saw Mitty. "Who's she?" He pointed in front of him at Mitty.
Mitty turned around to face him. "I'm Mitty," she told him.
His face immediately turned friendly. "Oh. I'm Wayne."
"Wayne, she's gonna be joining us with Captain," Toosk told him. "Is that fine?"
He began stepping closer to us. "Does she have powers? Does she know about Kari?"
"Oooh yes she does..." I nodded my head multipule times with wide eyes.
"Well then, let's call this a night and go home. We can continue our search tomorrow. Okay?" Tuukka asked; we all agreed with nods. "Alright, let us go."
