The next morning, I was back in my porch, inspecting my gun to see if it was in good shape for the upcoming mission.
I was rubbing dried blood off from the wooden end of it with a dark-coloured rag since I whacked countless heads with that part. I brought the rag down and stared at it, seeing the polished wood shine bluntly in the sunlight. I blew on it and rubbed it again quickly to make sure that it was a hundred percent clean.
I then heard the crunching of grass coming from my right side; the sound would only be emitted if someone was walking on the grass. I perked up and turned my head to my right, seeing how was coming.
It was Bella; she was wearing a brown tank-top with black sweatpants and boots. All I could do was stare at her while she was moving closer to me. My eyes followed her as she rounded the corner of my porch and up the porch's stairs, halting in front of me.
She then placed a soft hand on my shoulder. "Hey, Captain."
I blinked for a moment and gazed up at her. "Oh, hi, Bella." I smiled at her.
"What are you doing?" Bella asked as she sat on a chair that was to my right.
"Oh, I'm just--" I rose my gun up slightly in the air. "--cleaning my gun. Gotta take care of it, right?"
She smiled while nodding. "Yup."
I then placed my gun on my lap and turned to look at her. "Why do you keep coming here?"
She shrugged. "I just like it here with you. You're a great friend to talk with."
I letted out a chuckle under my breath. "Really?"
"Yea." She nodded meaningfully. "Do you like it when I come here?"
"Yea, definitely. A lot, actually. I love it when you come here." I automatically place my hand on top of her's, which was laying on the armrest.
"Are you serious?" She rose her eyebrows.
"Yes. I'm dead serious-- I love you." I just stared at her, waiting for her response of what I've been wanting to tell her.
Bella's eyes went wide with her slightly gaping. "Really?"
I swung my eyes down at the ground then back up at her. "Yea, I-I love you. I've always had...I just didn't know how to tell you...or when to tell you. But, Bella--" I closed my eyes, thinking of the words to say in a few seconds. "--I love you so much."
"I love you, too, Captain," she told me back.
I blinked for a moment. "You do?"
She nodded. "Yea, that's why I've been coming to you all this time... You're a great friend, like what I said...but I was hoping we can be more."
"We can...without a doubt, be more." I moved my hand so that I was able to hold onto her hand.
Bella letted out a sigh of satisfaction as she held onto my hand. "I can't believe this is happening."
I nodded while I looked straight into her eyes. "Same here."
"So, what do you want to do?" she asked while cocking an eyebrow.
I had many things I wanted to do with her, but I knew that would have to wait until we got deeper in our relationship. "Well, do you have an idea?" I extended my free hand to her; I then immediately brought that hand back to my gun, since it was beginning to slip from my lap.
"We can have a date. Well, kinda like a date, I can get food and we can eat here and talk, if that sounds fine to you."
I nodded my head while approving it. "Yea, that sounds great. I like it! But, I can make the food."
"Well, I want to bring some food of my own so that you can try it out. But you can make your own food--we can both have each other's food!"
"Okay, that'll be fine! I'll be more than happy to try out your food."
Bella flashed me a huge smile. "Great! So, I can leave, get my food, and then come back, then we can eat! How's that?"
I gazed up in deep thought with my lips pursed. "How long are you gonna take with your food?"
She looked down with a frown. "Maybe an hour, an hour and a half?"
I thought that through for a moment to see how that would fit with the mission in my plans. "Yea, that's fine!" Cook, eat, get on with the mission, which starts in two hours--perfect.
"Awesome!" She stood up and faced me. "I'll get going so that we can eat quicker."
I got up as well, placed the gun on the chair, then faced her. "Okay." I then held onto her wrists with each of my hands. "Be safe."
Bella giggled. "I will, I always am."
"Good." I then letted my emotions take over me for a moment. I leaned close to her face as my hands letted go and ran up her back. I sensed her leaning closer to me as her hands were wrapping around my waist. I then laid my hands against the back of her head and pressed my lips against her's.
I felt feelings of warmth, passion, and security rush through me, intensifying as the moment was getting deeper. I was experiencing something I've never experienced before and it was something I was glad I didn't pass up.
Unfortunately, the moment had to pass and Bella was the one who broke it.
She pulled away from me, staring deeply into my eyes with a slight smile. "I'll see you later." She then sauntered past me as her hand brushed against me.
I just stood in my spot in amazement with what I just went through. I letted out a huge breath, like as if I just ran around the forest. "Wow." I then spotted Bella walking towards the direction where she came from.
I wanted to run up to her and make out with her more, but I knew that could be done when she came back. So I nodded my head and turned around, scooping my gun off from the chair and lumbering back into my house.
I closed the door behind me and placed my gun on the table while I was making my way to the kitchen.
Suddenly, I heard an abnormal, sharp, short-lived whooshing sound coming from outside.
I stopped in my tracks and made an odd look at the kitchen. "What was that?" I walked backwards, then turned on my heels to walk forward towards the door. I opened it slightly and poked my head through the slit, seeing the outside. I turned my head upward, downward, right, and left, but I didn't see anything out of the ordinary. "Okay..." I then straightened up as I closed the door. "Eh, it's nothing." I shrugged it off and walked back into the kitchen.
