7 years earlier

"Yo, sleepy heads wake up," is the first thing I hear as I slowly register what's going on around me. I can tell it's my brother so at first I ignore him, snuggling more into my pillow.

Wait a minute. Sleepy heads. Plural. Oh my god, last night me and Tyler watched a movie and fell asleep on the couch. I remember my head falling on his shoulder when I first fell asleep, and now that I think about it this pillow is a little more solid than it should be.

Now it comes to me that during the night we shifted, I barely woke up and was really even conscious, but I vaguely remember it happening.

I'm lying on Tyler Owens.

"Get up," An actual pillow gets tossed at my head and I hear Tyler groan in annoyance.

"Let me sleep," He mumbles and tightens his arms around me. Oh god.

"Fine, I'll see ya later." I hear more noise before the front door opening and closing, meaning Liam left.

I fall back to sleep for a little while longer.

---------------------------

When I wake up for the 2nd time, it's later into the morning and I'm glad I got to sleep in. As I open my eyes I realize Tyler is playing with my hair, his fingers going through it softly.

I move my neck so I can look up at him.

"Morning," He says, smiling.

"Morning," I start to sit up, despite not wanting the moment to end. "Sorry for, uh, falling asleep on you."

"I don't mind." He gets up with me. I smile and when he goes to move a piece of hair that fell in front of my face and put it behind my ear, it takes everything in me not to freak out. Though I'm sure I still blush.

"Got any plans for today?" He asks. I shake my head. "Me neither."

"I have an idea." I grin.

-----------------------------

After eating breakfast and spending the morning together, I made him drive us to an empty parking lot. He's gonna teach me how to drive.

By now I know the basics, it took me a while to get used to the stopping and going, and I'm driving around town which is pretty empty.

"You're going to slow. The limit is 25, you're closer to 15." He's still smiling as he speaks. He's been surprisingly patient with this.

"I'm scared, what if I hit something?"

"There's nothing to hit, the road is empty."

I speed up a little bit to make him happy, still not over 23.

A little more of this and tornado sirens start going off.

"It's probably nothing," He says. But we switch seats just in case we have to get away.

"Uh, Tyler?" I say as the tornado behind us catches my eye. He notices it as soon as I say his name.

"Shit, c'mon, there's a diner down the street I'm sure they have a basement or something." He drives towards the diner though it would seem the tornado is heading our way pretty fast.

As soon as stops we jump out and head into the diner, the owner is already having the few costumers and staff inside head to the basement and we quickly join them.

We find a spot near a corner and sit down, everyone else settles into their spots too.

"What about Liam?" I turn to Tyler, worry starting to hit me now that everything is quiet.

"I'm sure he's fine, he's in the town over anyways." I nod my head, thankful for the reassurance. Tornado's never worried me too much, but that's because whenever they hit I was with the people I care about, not being near Liam means I don't know if he's okay.

I think Tyler notices I'm still slightly panicked at the thought because puts his arm around me and pulls me a bit closer.

------------------------

When everything is over and calm, everyone heads up stairs. There's some damage to the roof, and side wall, but nothing major.

"Aren't you too a lovely couple." An older lady smiles at us as we hold the door for her.

"Oh we're-" I start to say we aren't.

"Thank you." Tyler says. I look at him, but he gives me a shrug as if to say why make it a big deal.

He was just being nice to the old lady. It had nothing to do with me, right? I hate the part of me that wishes it did.

After that we leave and head back to Tyler's house, calling Liam on the way who is perfectly fine since he was a town or two over.

Me and Tyler talk the rest of the way.
