Perhaps Cassie overreacted that night. Or let her emotions take over.

For the past few days, the two of you haven't talked at all. Your eye often meets hers for only a few seconds before she looks away— pretending to be occupied at the moment.

Cassie can tell you've been trying to give her space, there's distance between the two of you, when before there was none. She hates to admit it, but she misses your cold skin whenever you brush against each other.

A voice in the next room sighs, she can't exactly pinpoint who was talking, too muffled to really tell. "And you know my stance on dating naman. Uunahin ko pagaaral ko kesa sa pagdadate. Right now, hindi option sakin yung love kasi I see it as a burden to me."

Cassie walks quietly through the hallway— careful to not make any sound. A few seconds ago, she just left her and Bianca's room to grab food downstairs. She can hear you, Pierre, Angge, and Em discussing in the room infront of her.

"Look, alam ko yun pero when will you date ba? Pag doctor ka na? Kasi pareho natin alam na mas wala kang oras pag ganun. And like, feeling ko naman maiintindihan ni Cassie if busy ka girl. She knows your priorities kasi." Ate Pierre's familiar voice talks. Cassie's face frowns at the mention of her— especially the fact that her friends are talking about her lovelife?

She halts in the middle of the hallway, her body slouched like the Grinch when he took over Christmas. Cassie's not one to eavesdrop— but her being mentioned made her curious. Slowly, she walks over towards your room, taking each step slowly before leaning her ear towards the door.

"Ba't nyo ba inaasume na gusto ako ni Cassie? I'm pretty sure iba gusto nya, tsaka I would not date someone in the same team— recipe for disaster yun. Jeeze. Imagine being in the same team as your ex, gusto nyo ba magaya si Ced at Tots?"

Cassie halts her breathing, feeling her stomach drop as if she were on a rollercoaster. They were talking to you about her.

You had been Cassie's crush for awhile now, while it started purely platonic at first— she just couldn't help but fall for someone like you. Unlike those she'd liked in the past, you had your priorities. You were quiet, focused, and what she liked the most? You were lovable. She was breathing fresh air every time you were near her.

She isn't the type to usually assume anything. In fact, she is probably the most clueless about feelings. But Cassie expected at least a 60% chance with you, right? After all, you stayed up late with her, played with her, studied with her, trained with her. Everyone assumed something between the two of you—You even slept in the same bed once. And now she is supposed to believe nothing more could come out to the two of you?

Carballo, hinga. She thinks to herself, her hunger long forgotten as she quickly retreats back to her room. There is a huge frown on her face as she forces herself to keep her tears in, to not burst.

"Oh, akala ko ba kakain ka?" Bianca asks, lifting her head from the paper she was working on. Cassie closes the door immediately, locking it.

"Hindi na pala, okay na ako." She replied back, looking down on the floor.

Bianca looks at her suspiciously, putting her pen down on the table, "Sinong naniniwala sa nakasimangot?"

"Bianca, wag ngayon." Cassie warns, and Bianca quickly gives up, raising her hands in defeat. Cassie was barely this serious and asking her about it immediately would just set her off more. She'll just have to ask her tomorrow, Bianca thinks.

When Bianca seems to have gone back to her studying, Cassie makes her way to her bed, covering herself with blankets and pillows— almost as if she was suffocating herself. She can tell Bianca is looking at her weirdly, and fixes herself before her friend decides to interrogate her even more. "Parang timang to." Bianca mumbles under her breath, turning back to the paper.
