Part XXI: Vacation

Even before we moved to the States, I had been a straightforward person. I'd always been clear about what I wanted. Every time there is something I wanted to do, I will go for it. If there is something I wanted to pursue, I'll go all out. Because I don't want to have regrets. I wanted to give my all without looking back in the end thinking I should've done more.

That's why when I realized my feelings towards Rhaiah, I immediately make a move. I didn't wait for the right timing. That was the perfect time. Because I waited for that moment.

As I was staring at her right now, I feel like the luckiest man. I still couldn't believe it. It felt like a dream. She's here, my girlfriend.

I reached for her hand and kissed it. She looked startled of what I did. I laughed because she's so cute.

"Thank you..." I randomly said.

"Hmm? Para saan?" Her eyebrows raised as she asked those words.

"Nothing." I pulled her closer to me and inhaled the scent of her hair. Damn, so addicting.

"Ang random mo!" Then she laughed heartily.

She might think I said that just out of nowhere but I'm truly thankful for the chance given to me. I will forever be grateful that she's mine. It's still a dream that she belongs to me. And I belong to her. I can't get over it and I don't think I will ever be.

"Hindi ka pa ba maliligo? Nag-e-enjoy na ang kapatid mo roon, oh!" She pointed the sea where my sister is currently enjoying.

"Later. I still want to stay here with you." I cling onto her more.

"Gusto ko na nga maligo, e. Dito ka na lang ba talaga?" Sensing the tone of her voice, I knew she was teasing me.

"No. We'll take a dip, then." I said. There's no way I'll stay here without her.

I feel like I don't want to be away from her just for a minute. So I'll follow where she would go. Besides, it's boring here in the cottage.

Since we're going to swim, I took off my sando and put it aside. I was about to pull her to the beach but she's suddenly unmovable. I wonder why but not a minute after, a smirk appeared on my lips. She's staring at my body. At my abs, particularly.

"Hey. Let's go?"

She blinked multiple times. "Huh? A-Ah, oo. Grabe, ang init!"

She fanned herself using her hand before going to where Ely is. I just laughed at that then followed her.

Dinner came and everyone was gathered again in the restaurant. I spotted Glyze beside her mom. I want to sit beside her but I refrain myself from doing that. So I chose the seat across her.

Everyone was silent today. Well, there were times that our dinner was silent but today was an extra. I examined everyone and found out they were all looking at me.. and Glyze?

"Is there something wrong?" I asked.

My mom sighed loudly beside my father then faced Glyze's mother.

"It's really happening, Melly." Mom said, and she seemed... relieved?

Tita Mel looked at me longer than usual. I don't know but there is something in her stare.
