Dahlia groaned as Diego lifted her up on the operating table. Diego couldn't help but love the fact that he was so close to Dahlia, being able to touch her, feeling her arms wrapped around him. And Dahlia couldn't help but love the feeling of Diegos hand gripping her just enough to hold her up.

She turned around so Diego would be able to stitch her leg up and he looked at the way her silk pajamas hugged her body. Dahlia looked in the mirror and noticed Diego looking at her and they stared at each other for a while, thinking.

Dahlia was the first to break eye contact and Diego got the supplied to stitch her up. The room grew quieter than before. Dahlia screamed as he put the needle through, the pained seemed like too much to Dahlia. It was more painful than the actual fight. She moaned again in pain, but this time Diego looked up at her through the mirror. Dahlia knew what that meant. She needed to be quiet and Diego was determined to keep her quiet. He knew that it hurt, but he trained the ones he loved the most. He could see the tears form in her eyes.

"It does hurt the first couple times, then it becomes a pain that you are used to." Diego admitted.  He went though with the last stitch and Dahlia let out another sigh full of pain. He wrapped her up and she turned around to face him before he helped her get up.

"Its gone hurt for a couple days, maybe weeks but you'll be-" before he could finish Dahlia walked away. Part of her was mad at him for stitching her up because it hurt so bad and another part of her didn't want him to see her crying. He grabbed some ointment and put it in his pocket for her. He didn't tell her, but he was impressed. The way she fought and the way she was about to be quiet while being stitched up.

"You want me to take you home?" Diego asked.

"No, Im going to check on Karina." she responded. She made her way to where Karina was being treated and the Doctor was close to being done. Dahlia could see that she didn't have that many cuts, it was just how deep they were. Karina smiled at Dahlia seeing her sit down.

"You good D?" Karina asked.

"Im great. Are you good?" Dahlia responded with a chuckled. Karina laughed too. She looked up at the wall and stared at it for some time. She started to think about how polite these people were to her and how she thought they were just a ruthless cartel. This made her question so much of what they thought down at the station.

"You just gone sit here?" Karina asked.

"All night." Dahlia responded smiling. Karina smiled back then turned her head because of the pain. She didn't feel like talking too much right now, at all really bit she was grateful that Dahlia was here even after she hadn't been honest about who she was. Her friendship and feelings toward Dahlia were all real, there was nothing fake about those and just knowing that gave her some type of peace.

Hours had passed and Diego waved for Dahlia to come see him, and she got up to go towards him.

"Wassup?" she asked.

"Come with me so I can check your leg." He responded.

"My leg is fi-" before she could finish he walked off and she walked off with him.

Dahlia got on the hospital bed and continued to lay down while Diego watched her. He sat down on the side of the bed with alcohol and ointment for her wound.

"When you get home this is how you need to take care of it. Put some alcohol on it so you can clean it up. Don't be gentle, you need it to be clean but don't be too rough either. They put a generous amount of ointment on it." Diego said as he was finishing up. Dahlia mustered up the strength to sit up after he cleaned her 'almost forgotten about' wound. It was hurting all over again and she felt it. When she sat up Diego stayed where he was and they made eye contact for a little while.

Dahlia thought Diego was beautiful. His skin was soft, his hands were firm, and his body made her blush. Especially when they touched. He phone ringed interrupting her thoughts.

"Hello." she answered.

"Hey Ms. Dahlia. Its Kevin. I was calling because I needed help tying my shoes." Kevin said on the other line.

"You need help tying your shoes?" Dahlia asked with confusion mixed with concern.

"Yes ma'am." he responded.

"At four o'clock in the morning?" Dahlia asked. There was a silence.

Dahlia knew that he probably just needed a distraction, or even comfort in this moment so she took a deep breath and explained to Kevin how to tie his own shoes. She had seen Kevin come to the events but he was usually by himself or with a woman that would sleep most through the breakfast, lunch, and sometimes dinner. She was a beautiful woman with full long black think hair and she would dress in casual wear. Kevin or his mother hadn't explained their story to Dahlia yet but she didn't need to know to be a safe space for him and his mother.

When she finished telling Kevin how to tie his shoes, he started to make conversation with her for a little while before hanging up.

"Well, thank you Ms. Dahlia. Ill see you tomorrow!" he said before hanging up. She smiled at the phone before speaking.

"Ill see you tomorrow Kevin. Goodnight." she said.

"Goodnight."

When she turned she seen Diego get up and head towards her.

"Im leaving in a bit, then coming back here. Did you want me to take you home now or later." Diego asked Dahlia. Dahlia thought about it for a while. She had a business to run so she knew she should be heading out.

"I think ill head out. I had enough for today." She answered. Diego nodded as they made their way up to the front. Dahlia looked at Maria who had a bruise on her face near her lip where Dahlia had punched. Maria turned and looked towards Dahlia and they stared at each other for a minute before breaking eye contact. Dahlia wanted her to know she put no fear in her, even after throwing that knife at her let.

"See you later Frankie." Dahlia said waving while walking out. Frankie smiled at her.

"See you later." Frankie responded.

Diego led Dahlia out and they headed back to Dahlias home.
