Kenny took a moment to gaze at Butters' house. It was much bigger than his house. Then again, almost every house in South Park was bigger than his.
Kenny eventually looked away, trying not to seem weird. "Let's go in, then." He said quietly, walking towards the front door.
As Kenny entered, he took a moment to marvel at how clean Butters' house was. He shook his head- he wasn't trying to be one of those people who compared their problems to everyone else's, and he knew Butters had a lot of family issues, too.
Butters' dad was sitting on the couch, reading the newspaper. He looked up as the two boys entered. "Oh, you brought a friend, Butters?" He sneered. "Ask next time, but I'll let it slide this time. Just make sure that room is clean by the time he's gone or else you'll be grounded, mister!"
Butters nodded hastily, seeming to let out a sigh of relief as his dad looked back to the newspaper. "Cmon, Ken. We can go up to my room! - Oh, wait. Where are my darn manners? Are ya hungry or anything?" He asked as they both kicked off their shoes.
Kenny felt his heartbeat spike with relief. He didn't want to seem like he was using Butters for food, but this time, he wouldn't say no. He wouldn't even have to save some for Karen as she was always at the Tucker house. Kenny tried not to seem too eager and weird about it, trying to seem civil. "Uh, a bit."
Butters quickly nodded, leading Kenny to his kitchen. "We gotta be careful, because my dad here has an alphabetically sorted pantry, okay? But you can choose anything!" He said as he opened his pantry.
Kenny softly gasped. There was so much food. He didn't want to take too much, though. But he made sure not to take too little as he grabbed a family sized bag of chips. "Is this okay?
" Kenny asked. "We- we could share." He added hastily.Butters nodded. "Mhm! We gotta be careful not to make a mess, though. My dad should be okay with me eating in my room since a guest is over; but be careful not to get crumbs anywhere. Kay?"
Kenny nodded quickly, and with that, they both headed up the stairs to Butters' room.
Once they reached Butters' room, Kenny sat down on the bed, with the chip bag still in hand. "Is it okay if I have some already? I'm just a bit hungry.." Kenny looked towards the chip bag.
Butters nodded with a smile. "Of course, Ken! Ya don't even have to ask- Also, I have some shows we could watch on my computer- I'll get that ready for us!"
Kenny had to admit- Butters did talk a lot. But he did like that about him. He focused on eating some of the chips while Butters started his computer. He didn't feel comfortable with taking his hood off at that moment, so just shoved the chips under the orange fabric covering his mouth so it gave him access to actually being able to eat it.
Butters had started up his computer, and as he waited for it to turn on, he turned towards Kenny. "Hey, Ken?"
Kenny looked up at Butters. "Huh? Yeah, dude?" He asked. He was barely able to stop himself from eating - it felt so good to have something to eat, and he found it hard to stop.
But he forced himself, setting the bag aside and listening to what Butters was going to say.
"Oh- I don't mean to be rude or nothin', but- uhm.. Why don't you ever take ya hood off? I mean- nobody has seen your face for ages!" Butters stammered.
Kenny laughed softly at this. "Oh, it's nothing really important. It just feels weird without it on.." He said before going back to digging into the chips.
There was another reason, but he didn't really like talking about it.
Butters nodded quickly. "Ah, alright."
