Days passed. Kenny only seemed to get worse. However, his parents never took him to the hospital. They didn't have insurance anymore. However, his mom promised to take him to the hospital if it got to the point where he was dying.
Every single day, Butters visited Kenny. He always brought something like flowers, candy, (which Kenny never ate), shit like that.
Kenny was barely ever awake. He woke up for three hours at max each day. Sometimes he was lucky enough to wake up when someone like his mom, sister or one of his friends were visiting. All of his friends visited often, but Butters came the most despite being grounded.
Often, he'd wake up and cough up blood, throw up some more, and go back to sleep shortly after. He hoped and prayed that he'd die in his sleep. But it never happened.
His dad had come home once or twice in this time period; but he didn't seem to care much at the news that his son was sick, barely sober enough to register what that meant.
Luckily, his mom had sobered up enough to visit and check on Kenny often; and the house was quiet most of the time. Sometimes, she'd bring him some food she'd bought from the money she earned from selling drugs. Karen didn't stay home much, even when the house was quiet. But she did visit Kenny frequently.

One day, during the time that Kenny was awake, he heard the door creak open. Butters walked in with yet another bouquet of pretty flowers held in his hands. He walked up to the side of Kenny's bed.
"Oh, hi, Ken. You're awake!" Butters said softly, placing the flowers down and gently taking Kenny's hand into his own.
Kenny forced a smile, looking up at Butters after coughing a bit. "Hey, Butters." He rasped.
Butters smiled back at him, leaning down and kissing his forehead. He didn't want to kiss him on the lips; it would be a bigger chance of getting whatever sickness Kenny had.
Kenny blushed slightly at that, before suddenly; he began coughing violently into his hands.
Butters watched in worry, noticing that he began to cough up blood.
Once Kenny was done, Butters quickly wiped blood off of Kenny's face with his sleeve, not caring about the tiny blood stain.
"Your parents are planning on taking ya to the doctors, right?" Butters asked softly, resting a hand on Kenny's chest once he was done.
Kenny shook his head. "Nah. Maybe if it gets worse. But not right now." That was the longest sentence he'd said in a while.
Butters nodded, but before he could say anything, Kenny spoke up. "Take me on a walk."
Butters just stared at Kenny with wide eyes. "Uh, Ken- I don't think you should be getting out of bed."
Kenny shook his head, sitting up. "I'm- I'll be okay, Butters. Please."
Butters just stared some more in confusion. "Are you even feeling well enough to do that-"
Kenny quickly nodded. "Please. I need fresh air." He secretly hoped the exertion would kill him. Even if it didn't, he would be able to spend more time with Butters.
"Alright.. but we're not going far. Okay? And if you start feeling off, just holler." Butters decided.
Kenny nodded, and Butters helped him out of bed gently. Kenny almost fell once he was standing up, but he found the strength to keep himself on his feet with Butters' help.
Kenny leaned heavily on Butters, and they slowly made their way out of the small house. Nobody besides Kenny was home. It probably wasn't a good idea to leave a severely sick kid home alone, but despite his mom being better than his dad, she was still somewhat neglectful and alcoholic.
Once they were outside, Kenny inhaled the cold, fresh air. It stung his lungs, making him wheeze. Butters stopped walking, keeping a hand on Kenny's waist.
When Kenny declared it okay to continue walking, Butters reluctantly nodded and they began walking along the sidewalk with no set destination.
Kenny had to stop to cough or take breaks in general often, but other than that, everything seemed okay for now.
"Are you really sure we should be doing this, honey?" Butters asked softly after a while of walking.
Kenny nodded insistently. "Mhm. I needed this, anyway."
Butters nodded, and they walked through the neighborhood, passing all of the houses.
After a while, Kenny suddenly stopped. He began coughing violently. Butters thought it was another one of Kenny's less severe ones until Kenny suddenly fell to the ground.
"KENNY! Oh geez, oh geez- I should've never let you-"
Kenny began throwing up, and Butters supported him, pulling his hood down gently. He whispered comforting words into Kenny's ear while he vomited.
After Kenny was done vomiting, he thought he would feel better. But frankly, it was the opposite. He began gasping for breath, unable to breathe.
"Oh hamburgers- KENNY-" Butters gasped, quickly pulling his phone out and calling 9-1-1.
Kenny laid back on the sidewalk, gasping for air and letting blood dribble out of his mouth. He felt himself fading out of consciousness, and he could make out the sound of Butters screaming and crying, saying something.
He struggled to stay awake, hoping he would just die. But death, or at the very least- unconsciousness couldn't come any slower. After a while, Butters put his phone away and frantically kneeled over Kenny.
"Stay with me, please.. the ambulance is on the way.. Please, Ken.. please.." Kenny heard Butters sob, but any noise seemed distant and far away.
Kenny then heard more familiar voices, but couldn't understand what anybody was saying or what was happening anymore, hearing the faint sounds of sirens coming closer and closer.
Kenny eyes slowly shut, and a blanket of darkness overwhelmed him. But the familiar feeling of death never came.
FUCK! It was never this hard to die. He could just die, wake up, and people wouldn't have to be worried about him anymore. He doubted they'd have a clear memory of him being sick in the first place.
If he could just die.
