Chapter 38

You walk in school and see Jacon Ben Israel roaming the halls, searching for seniors to terrorise. He starts with Finn but quickly moves on to the rest. You make it your mission to dodge JBI. His questions are just annoying. You search Santana and don't leave her side once you do. Then suddenly, JBI questions Santana. Apparantly you aren't important enough, because you don't get any questions.

"Senior year is all about being the Cheerios top hoe and modeling my fierceness after my numero una latina: Paula Abdul." Santana says with such confidence. How can anyone not love her?

"Paula Abdul is an arab." JBI says, even though nobody cares. "Hey, has anyone seen Quinn Fabray?"

Santana is already walking away after seeing Brittany. You are walking behind the camera. JBI asks Brittany about her future plans, and she gives him such a Britt answer. Something about a time machine. You decide to let Santana talk to her best friend for a while so you go and search Kurt, but he is busy entertaining JBI. Then you look for 'Cedes. She is busy talking with her man. When she sees you, she waves you over. You walk over and get introduced.

"Hey 'Cedes. Who is this guy?" You laugh.

"Y/n, this is my boyfriend. His name is Shane. He truly believes in me. He believes that I should get at least as many solos as Rachel." Mercedes looks at him and he looks back at her with adoration.

"Ahw, you guys are so cute together. I'm going to keep on walking and go find my girlfriend so I can do this with her. See ya later 'Cedes." You walk away.

"Bye!" Mercedes yells at you.

You hear Shane vaguely asking Mercedes why you keep calling her 'Cedes. You don't hear her response, but he'll hear yours on the court. That stupid football player, questioning my nickname when her name is Mercedes, how obvious can you be. You keep walking when you bump into Mr Shue.

"Hey Y/n, I know it's early in the day, but I need your help. Can you please text everyone to meet me in the choir room in 5 minutes?" Mr Shue asks you.

"Sure, I'll do my best." You reply and walk further.

You grab your phone and text everyone that Mr Shue called a Glee meeting and he expects everyone to be there in 5 minutes. Everyone complains a bit but shows up after all. When you arrive in the choir room, Santana is already sitting in a chair, you walk up to go sit next to her and hold her pinky. Santana asked you before school began to keep your relationship on the downlow at school. After school, you can go to each other houses, but you have to leave school in different cars because Santana doesn't want everyone to know that she is gay and that her rumour from last year was all a lie. You agreed because it would keep your girlfriend happy.

"Mr Shue, why are all of our trophies in the middle of the room?" Tina asks.

"I was sure that our Nationals trophy would grow during the summer." Brit adds. You snicker a little.

"I want this image burned into your minds. This is what the difference between first and 12th place looks like. It's also what it feels like." Mr Shue is starting the year with making us feel bad. Great.

"Are you planning on bumming us out all year long?" Puck asks. You raise your eyebrow.

"No, I'm planning on pushing you harder than you've ever been pushed." You roll your eyes and Santana looks weirdly at Mr Shue. "We made it to Nationals last year. This year, I'm not going to let anything or anyone stop us from winning it all. I let you down last year. I lost focus, let some Broadway pipe dream get in the way."
