Chapter 45

Season 3 episode 8

On your way to school, you see Rachel. You smile at each other, but that's it. Then Santana starts walking next to you. You see Finn come up to Rachel and he clearly has a plan. You look confused but shrug it off.

"So that's it." Santana finishes her sentence.

"Hmm?" You hum. "I'm sorry, but I wasn't listening to you at all."

"Typical." Santana laughs. "I was talking about how we could easily win sectionals now. And I had an entire plan but it isn't the best now that I hear it aloud so it doesn't even matter."

"Great." You smile and quickly kiss her. You rush off to class. 

By the end of the day, Santana drags you towards the choir room. You ask her why and she just tells you to wait outside. She would give you a sign to come in. You shrug and lean against the wall. Santana walks inside the choir room and starts talking but you zone out again. Today is not your day to focus apparantly. Then you hear Santana saying her closing words and you walk inside. Sam hugs Santana because apparantly he's back. You smile and walk towards him.

"Hey Sam." You wave from a distance.

"Y/n, give me a hug." Sam laughs.

"Fine." You laugh and give him a hug. "I'm glad you're back, but I want to clear the air about something, right now. I know last year I was kinda distant to you, that's because you were dating my girlfriend and I was really mad and hurt about that. Anyways, let's just start fresh?"

"Sounds like an awesome plan, and I promise I'll try to not seduce Santana again." Sam winks.

"You can try, but I'll doubt it'll work." You laugh and kiss Santana's cheek.

"You know what, that's even better than what I thought." You smile at that and hug him quickly before heading out to the rehearsals for the troubletones.

"Did you really have to do that?" You smile at her.

"Yeah, I needed to." Santana laughs.

"I didn't listen to what you were saying, but I am having that all day. It's weird, but I'm sure it was filled with insults, but that he still smiled at you after whatever, he does likes you, even if it's as a friend."

"Yeah, probably." Santana smiles and you start rehearsal.

Next day, you are walking with Mercedes, and Sam walks up to hold Mercedes' hand. You look confused but take a step back and watch whatever's happening from a small distance. You can't hear the full conversation, but when stopped walking, you walk past him and catch up with Mercedes. You can hear Sam yell that he'll fight for Mercedes.

"Cedes, looks like you have a secret admirer, or maybe not so secret." You wink.

"Y/N, please. But yeah, we had something over summer as you know, and I moved on, as you know, but he still wants me clearly." Mercedes says, trying to oppress a smile.

"Cedes, don't think I don't see you smiling. Whatever you feel, you like it." You smile and laugh a little.

"Y/n, if you're not going to be subtle, we won't talk about this ever again."

"Fine, fine." You laugh and you keep on walking.

The week passes by in the blink of an eye. It's filled with rehearsals and class and even more rehearsal. Before the start of regionals, the Troubletones go to wish the New Directions good luck, but Santana has to turn it around that if the New Directions lose and we win, that all of them can join us. It doesn't feel right and the New Directions are hurt, justifiably. You all head for the auditorium and the unitards are up first. The lead singer is that  girl from that one NYADA group Kurt and Rachel once attended. They are good. You clap for them at the end and get ready to perform yourself.
