Chapter 41

Season 3 Episode 4

It's sunday, Santana and you are sitting on your couch, watching the news. Santana is using you as her pillow and you are slowly stroking her hair. Every once in a while you kiss her head. The news is about to end, but then it's time for Sue's corner. Santana slaps your thigh slightly to make sure you are paying attention. Sue is showing all of Ohio the budget of the musical. You and Santana look shocked. You start to get worried, maybe you should go by Mr Shue's office tomorrow. After the news, you put on a show and fall asleep.

The next day, while you are headed for Mr Shue's office, you see Brittany talking to someone new. You look him up and down, certainly after Brittany kissed his cheek. You see that he gets bullied by the jocks. You want to jump in, but you really need to talk to your father first. When you get to his office, noone is there. You shrug and take a mental note to come by later today. You just walk to Mercedes instead. Mercedes starts walking to Santana's locker.

"What are we doing?" You ask, matching Mercedes' pace.

"We need more members in our club. So we are asking some strong voices to join us. And don't tell me you won't like it if your Santana joins the club." Mercedes looks at you knowingly.

"I know that you think me and Santana are dating again, but we are not. I couldn't go through that again. But it would be nice to have some more voices to overshadow Sugar."

"Exactly." Mercedes says.

"Look, Santana and I are getting a long great now, but I don't think I should help you with this one. I'll walk first and meet you at math class. Yeah?" You walk past Santana, but not without touching her arm. Mercedes sees this and smiles.

"Hi Santana. How many solos did you get in Glee club last year?" Mercedes doesn't beat around the bush.

"A few." Santana shrugs.

"One, Valerie, and I loved it." Santana smiles at that.

"I was also the lips in Rocky Horror." Santana looks down at Mercedes.

"Listen, if you and I were in Shelby's group, we'd get all the solos and the duets. Our voices sound amazing together. Plus it's an all-girl group, with someone else you love in it as well." Mercedes tries to convince Santana.

"Why would I care about all-girl?" Santana says, ignoring the last part Mercedes said.

"Because it's all lady power all the time." They start walking down the hall. "I mean, Shelby's an amazing teacher, I'm hitting notes I didn't even know existed. She gets me, what I have to give." Santana starts considering the offer, they walk past you and you smile at her. Then you see Finn is following them. You want to start yelling at him, but decide to leave it for later. You didn't hear what Mercedes said after that, but when Santana starts talking, you are focused on her again.

"You know, honestly, I wish I could, but somebody has got to look out for Brittany. I mean, that special that she lives in, yeah, it's beautiful, but somebody's got to help her cross the street. I could never just leave her and what about Y/n?" Santana says, looking at you. You smile and nod at her, saying that you understand.

"Get Brittany to come with you, Y/n is already part of the club, but she told me that you are just friends and she couldn't put herself through that again. I wouldn't get your hopes up." Mercedes says, and Santana is really thinking about joining. She does give you a litte glare and you put up your arms in defence. Mercedes walks away and joins you. "You listened to the whole conversation didn't you?"

"Yeah, you did good. But if you could just refrein from talking to Santana about me and our feelings, I would deeply appreciate it." You laugh a little.
