After leaving my morning class, I made my way to the cafeteria. With my stomach growling after all the exercise, I couldn't help but look at all the fantastic food in front of me.
I grabbed myself a bowl of steaming rice mixed with some green onion and steak, alongside some chicken strips which I proceeded to shread down and mix with the rice. With my tray in hand, I navigated through the crowd of fellow students, each engaged in their conversations and activities.
Finally, I sit at the table with my friends. We relax together while eating and talking about our days so far and our plans for after classes.
Everyone's plans aligned, so they returned to their rooms for a little study session. After getting their work done, they planned to take some time to relax and unwind before settling in for the night.
Following lunch, I proceeded to the Temple for my next class. Upon arrival, we were guided through the sacred space and given an in-depth look at the statues and murals representing the twelve Olympian deities.
It was explained to us that the curriculum for the initial portion of the year would center on these Earthly deities, delving into their roles and influence in our world. Our studies would focus on understanding their contributions and cultivating a deep respect for their presence and impact.
Most of the class was dedicated to an extensive examination and discussion of the twelve Olympian deities. We delved into their attributes and significance before shifting our focus to Demeter. Our studies explored her origins, upbringing, and profound impact on the natural world and human society.
After leaving the Temple, I navigated through the school grounds towards a classroom on the edge of the school grounds. Adjacent to the garden there, I met up with Scarlet.
The classroom was designated for our course on familiars. It had a tall, vaulted ceiling with skylights covering most of it. In one corner was a small, runic-looking structure adorned with an assortment of intricate carvings and a variety of lush, carefully tended plants.
As the professor entered the room, he directed us to sit at the desks. He then announced that his name was Mr.Ethos and that today's lesson would take us to the conjuring area, where we would have the opportunity to forge a bond with a familiar spirit.
The professor emphasized the importance of understanding the nature of familiars. He stressed that familiars are not mere tools, servants, or possessions but extensions of ourselves. They are beings who learn and grow alongside us, requiring care and personal development to strengthen the bond between us.
It is essential to approach this relationship respectfully and commit to mutual growth. Before delving deeper into the specifics of familiars, he invited us to ask any questions we might have.
I raised my hand and asked, "Could you clarify the difference between forming a bond and establishing a contract with a spirit? Additionally, suppose we can create contracts with multiple spirits. What is the reason behind forming a bond with a single spirit?"
"The difference between a bond and a contract is that with a bond, both parties need to invest time and effort in nurturing and maintaining the relationship. The bond grows stronger as both entities work together.
Meanwhile, when you form a contract, and you complete the task or a certain amount of time passes, the spirit goes away/ disappears."
One of my classmates asked, "What are the different types of familiars, and what specific abilities or functions can they perform?"
"There are numerous types of familiars, all of which fall under the category of Elemental spirits. Some can use Basic elements, while others can use intermediate magic.
