I woke up with a mix of emotions swirling inside me. The sunlight streamed through the curtains, casting a warm glow across my room. I lay in bed for a few moments, replaying the events of last night.
"I'm sorry i couldn't recognize you..."
Seeing Celeste again had stirred up so many memories, and her inability to recognize me was a harsh reminder of the distance time had created.
I decided I needed to clear my head. It was a bright, sunny afternoon—the perfect weather to get out and explore. After a quick shower and a light breakfast, I grabbed my bag and headed out the door. The city was alive with activity, and I felt a surge of energy as I stepped onto the bustling streets.
"One order of Salted Caramel latte for Ms. Marky" as the barista calls out my name and smiled at me.
My first stop was our favorite coffee shop, where the barista still remembered my usual order. The smell of freshly brewed coffee and the cozy atmosphere felt comforting, like a warm embrace. I took a seat by the window, sipping my latte and watching people pass by.
"Why do you like salted caramel?" voice of Celeste spoke as I'm reminded of this coffee that im drinking..
"Well alam ko naman na you'll find it weird kasi matamis tas maalat, for me i don't know rin but the taste is unique.."
"One large Matcha latte for Ms. Celeste ganda.." Barista called her name.
"Bakit tama sinabi non?" as i teased Celeste..
Those moments will always be here, kept in my heart. It's better to be the person who remembers everything because i know, i won't do anything about it but to just remember it.
Once I finished my coffee, I decided to visit the park where Celeste and I used to spend so much time together. The familiar sights and sounds brought back a flood of memories, both happy and bittersweet.
I smiled as I passed the bench where we used to sit and talk for hours, sharing dreams and secrets. I sat down on that very bench, letting the peaceful ambiance of the park wash over me. I closed my eyes, taking a deep breath.
"Ang swerte ko baby.." Celeste said as she lay down on my shoulder.
"Why?" the view in front of us is a grass field and at the end you can see a river.
"Kasi i have you.. You're the most genuine, sincere person I've ever met.. plus you love me so much.." she faced me.. sun light strikes on her face.. sobrang ganda mo Cele..
"I'm lucky too kasi i have u also.. let's grow old together baby okay?"
Grow old together Marky?
Reminiscing about those moments we had together makes my heart flutter. I miss those times. Kahit buong araw tayong magkasama, kahit walang ginagawa, basta magkasama tayo, it feels like forever to me.
A voice broke through my thoughts.
"So you're here?" My heart skipped a beat as I turned around. It was Celeste. She stood there, looking at me with an expression of surprise and curiosity.
"Celeste!" Nabigla nalang ako at napatayo. "I didn't expect to see you here ah? What are you doing here..?"
"Well, galing akong University.. then i just walk, then my feet brought me here.. Mind if i join you?" I nodded, still trying to process the fact that she was here, standing in front of me. She took a seat beside me.
