The Exchange Student

Evangeline was mad at me she didn't go to school for a whole week. I tried sending her messages but she ignored me I was such a screw up. Valetin talked to me but he kept his distance, the rest of the soccer boys talked to me but some knew what happened so they didn't bother to make an effort on talking to me.

It was Friday and I had a game today coach had said I haven't been doing well at practice Evangeline not talking to me distracted me I wasn't the best. I didn't want to let the team down today as I was the best on the team.

After school I had planned to visit Evangeline before my soccer game, she'd be there she was a cheerleader after all but maybe she wouldn't show up. According to Noah she's only been going to cheer practice which is good I'm proud of her for not giving up on her skills.

Host mother said I wasn't looking any better which I knew it was true. How could someone do better when they are close to losing the one girl they love. The girl that made them feel something when no other girls could. I love Evangeline and whatever Chiara did to make this all happen I hated her for. Chiara was the reason all of this was happening, she was making me lose the girl I loved. She tried talking to me this whole week at school I ignored her when I could because sometimes she'd just pull me and talk to me. I hated her she should of never moved to this school and the office ladies should of never made me show her around I don't care if we're both Italian I only care for my girl.

I had a good talk with my host parents during dinner, they cared for me. I had informed my real parents what had happened. Mother tried giving me advice, dad didn't seem to care he just told me to get with Chiara since she was Italian. It shows how much of a difference my real and host parents are.

I lay down to rest before my game and I decided to listen to music Evangeline and I shared a playlist on Spotify and I saw she had added "Heavy" By the Marias. I decided to take a listen not knowing what to expect.

"Cause I don't wanna be in love with another. Even in another life." Hearing those lyrics broke my heart I tried not to cry but my eyes teared up. Was this real? Was I crying over a girl I just had met this year? I promised to not fall in love while being an Exchange student but Eve she had something no Italian girl had. Her smile, her laugh, her beautiful hazel eyes that had a little bit of green when the sun hit them.

Host mom walked in on me crying she gave me a hug and patted my back as I cried in her arms. "Get ready I'm gonna take you to Evangeline's to see if you guys can fix things up." I got up so fast to put on my uniform.

We got in the car and stopped and a local store to get some Tulips Evangeline's favorite flower. I was a bit nervous and scared.

We got to Evangeline's house I knocked on the door to my surprise her dad opened the door. "Ah Adrien come on in Eve is right upstairs getting ready but Valetin is in the kitchen if you wanna talk to him as well." I say thank you and walk to the kitchen to where I see Valetin making a sandwich "oh hey bro I was just making Evangeline a sandwich, she's barely eating. Baby steps but she's making progress." The thought of Evangeline starving herself completely broke my heart I felt like such a dick.

Valetin finished the sandwich and he told me to go with him to Evangeline's room. When we got to her room he said to wait until he told me to go in.

"Evangeline there's someone here to see you" I walked in. Evangeline was doing her makeup she looked stunning.

"I'll leave you two alone" Valetin said and left shutting the door behind him. "What are you doing here?" came out of Evangeline's mouth as she just looked at me like she didn't want me to be here. "Look Eve I'll make this quick my host mom is outside but I just wanted to check up on you, I know I messed up and you probably don't wanna hear from me ever again. But I love you Evangeline and the kiss with Chiara didn't mean anything I promise you, I only have eyes for you."

"Wow Adrien your so good at lying" I was confused at her saying that and she caught on that I was confused. "You expect me to believe what your saying when I had people send me pictures of you and Chiara talking at school when I wasn't there this week do you think I'm stupid? and easy to manipulate, well let me tell you no. I know my worth and I know I'm worth a lot then just a stupid boy that has the balls to show up to my house with fucking flowers thinking it's gonna fix everything when I have picture of him and her."

I was lost for words and that's when Evangeline pushed me out of her room and shut the door. I stood there in complete shocked trying to progress what she just had said. Was I really a stupid boy? Is she going to believe the people that sent the pictures? I know it's some proof that I could be cheating but she didn't even let me tell her that those pictures were false, and it was all the time's Chiara would pull me by the hand.

Valetin came up to me "I heard it all I think it's best for you leave Adrien I'll see you at the game and just leave my sister alone for now."

And just like that. I lost her, I lost Evangeline.
