"Don't tell me what?" Desirée wanted to unalive herself right there and then. Kai was supposed to come home from training an hour later, but of all days to be dismissed early it had to be today. Kai's eyes had shifted to the five pregnancy test boxes that were messily thrown on the bed. "Are you pregnant?" He questioned as she looked down, waves of guilt and shame washed over her. "Ae," she replied in Māori. "Is it Jordan's?" He blurts out the one question she was dreading she'd hear. She nods her head, the courage that Vaitiare had given decided to take a departure ticket.

"Does he know?" He asks lowly enough for her to hear. "I'm going to kill thus bastard" he says storming off, the two girls looked at each other and chased after him. "Kai don't," Desirée pleaded. "Give me one good reason why I shouldn't, the guys a whole shit show since he's moved to Aus, he's not the same guy I remember back in NZ. He's not even man enough to own up to his own mistakes let alone be a Father I mean-" his rant gets cut off by Vaitiare. "Kātirawhe! She doesn't need to hear this shit right now so can you please shut the fuck up, the girl just found out she's pregnant for goodness sake she doesn't wanna hear a rant about how much of a dick her baby daddy is,"

Kai sighed and left to his room. He'd had a long day and was caught of guard when he'd come home to the news of his sister being pregnant. He didn't mean to react like that, he just felt like this was partly his fault. Desirée and Jordan had met through him, after one of their games they all decided to wind down on the beach. Jordan and Desirée became close that day. Then every day after that week the two got closer until they got together. Jordan was his best mate since they were five, he wasn't exactly pissed when he found out they were dating but he wasn't afraid to remind Jordan about death threats too.

Not long after Jordan had been offered to play for the broncos and all stars, Kai had recieved the same offer. Both debuting for all stars and only one round apart for their NRL debut. Desirée was gifted with a beautiful voice, most of her posts were just covers of songs, that same week she was given the blessing to represent Aotearoa and sing the national anthem at the all stars game. The two siblings decided to move together, Desirée took this oppurtunity to reunite with her boyfriend after months of long distance and see her favourite cousin. The first month and a half things sailed smoothly until one day a desperate booty call popped up, she confronted him but he denied which he got rewarded with silent treatment.

Afterwards the couple were on and off until the relationship became based off angry and makeup sex, what was once healthy turned toxic. They didn't tell their families about it, to them they were still the happy healthy couple. Vaitiare and Kai however didn't need the two to tell them what was going on. The tension, sexual and heated already spoke for itself, not to mention the his absence. Kai had promised he would keep his relationship with Jordan strictly to do with work, yes they used to be really close but that was the old Jordan. Jordan now wanted to go out every weekend most likely sweet talking a couple of girls, the old sweet, Jordan had disappeared.

As Kai lay in bed still in his training gear a blanket of guilt covered. He rubs the bridge of his nose he gets up and goes for a shower. He shouldn't have told her those things, finding out your going to raise a child was stressful enough. His mouth had unfortunately run faster than his mind, the best thing he could do right now is support and be there for his little sister. The thought of if I hadn't let them get together pepe would have a better father by now ran through his mind, constantly having to remind himself that this isn't about him.

He changed and went to the living room where he found Vaitiare sitting on the couch on her phone. "Where's Rée?" The curly head questioned. "She's in her room, you better not make her cry again," she replies sternly. "I won't, I need to talk to her to apologise," he says walking away. "Rée, can I come in?" He asks knocking on the door. "Why?" She says through the other side. "I'm here to apologise," he sighs barging in opening the door. As much as she wanted to argue back she didn't have the strength to, not today. "I'm sorry for being dick, I shouldn't have overreacted like that when I found out about baby, all I can do is be there and support you" he apologises sitting at the end of her bed where she lay.
