Desirée checked the time on her phone, three more hours before she could leave for the day. She was lucky not to have to go to the studio for kapahaka in the evening. The day had been quiet, just her and Rory until closing time. She had been asked multiple times and even suggested that she should go on maternity leave while she's only 7 months but the bills don't pay themselves unfortunatly and that doesn't change prices on baby items "We should just close shop early and go home," He suggested sarcastically as they sighed knowing they couldn't. "I wish," she let out a breathy laugh. She stood and sat down for a bit, catching her breath. The weight was tiring her out.

"You can clock off now if you want, I doubt anyone's going to come in," Rory looks at her softly as she stands, putting her hair up in a bun. "Nah, it's all goods I'm fine," she said as they both left the back room. Upon walking outside, they greeted new customers who were browsing the store. Thank goodness for Rory attending to them asking for their preferences. She did not feel like dealing with people. She double-checked the eftpos to see how much they made today and went through some extra emails of what shoes they had coming in. After a few minutes, the shop goes back to being empty, which meant Rory could gossip about his love life in the meantime.

"Andre is so fake he hasn't messaged me in 20 minutes," he whines, putting his phone away while Desirée laughs at him, being a sook over his on and off talking stage. "Girl, calm down, I'm sure he's busy," she reassures before going back to the back. She stacks a couple of shoe boxes aside, preparing for the tomorrows new arrivals when Rory comes rushing in. "There's this really fine guy outside you need to come, also don't touch those boxes I can do them," he says creating and emphasis on need, before double checking himself in the mirror. She finished off placing a few away. "Oh my gosh, there's two," he fangirled, coming back in, making the brown eyed girl laugh.

She followed him outside, not bothering to check how she looked, not because she wasn't interested part of her was but because who in the world is going to want a single pregnant woman. Rory had gone to ask if they needed assisting while replacing some of the shoes. The girl shook her head and laughed to herself. She checked the time at the register, a habit she'd picked up when she was bored at work. "Oh my gosh, the brunette one literally towers over me," he gasped, standing next to the dark-haired girl. "What happened to Andre?" Rée asked, smirking at him. "Shh, this is just eye candy," he joked. Desirée didn't get to properly see the two figures in the store. The only thing that filled her mind was wishing that the time could go faster so she could clock off.

"They're coming this way. How do I look?" Rory fluffed his hair, turning to Desirée. "Girl  you look fine as always," she reassured.  "Stop it, I like it," the two giggled at their own antics. The wavy haired girl spotted the remaining shoelace packs under the register and began stocking them up on the side. She turned to her side to see a bearded guy with long blonde hair. "Oh hey," Patty smiles, recognising the girl as she smiles back. Rory continued to serve the rugby player. Not long after, she hears her co-worker change his tone when serving the next person. She smiled to herself at his change. The Polynesian girl glances to the sid,  partially facing the customer. The girl recognised the 6,2 frame standing on the other side of the counter as she turned and locked eyes with him. She froze for a second before vanishing to the backrooms

She took a sip of water, trying to calm herself down over the events that had unfolded. Her whole plan down the drain. Mentally cussed at herself, wishing that it was closing time already. "You look like you've seen a ghost," Rory walks in, catching her by surprise. She took some breaths to calm down before speaking. "That's probably because I did," she stated before drinking her water again. "Oop," He said, sorting out extra stuff. "Care to share, only if you want to," Her co-worker suggested turning his attention to her. 6 no one, he's dead to me, so don't worry," she briefly complained.
