Just like her cousin had adviced her, Aunty
Lizzie allowed her to work while her blue card application was being sorted. Today she was starting her first shift with the years 7/8's. The girl showed up in the afternoon to her Aunty's office where she then was shown her allocated studio. "Are you nervous," Aunty Lizzie asks as they walked down the halls. "A little bit," the Māori girl let out a breathy laugh. "Don't worry you'll be fine, they'll love you," Her Aunty reassured. Questions flooded the girls mind on how to introduce herself, whether she the kids were nice or out of pocket, if she had to be strict with them. The two ladies entered the empty hall 15 minutes before the session started. "So do I just introduce myself with my pepeha or how would like me to do it," Desirée paced, fidgeting with her hair. "Calm down girl it will be alright, just introduce yourself with your pepeha, say a quick backstory then I'll explain the rest."The older lady shows her where the guitars are and the whiteboard and goes through a few bits of house keeping so she won't get lost. "Don't worry these kids aren't that bad, they just need someone to keep them focused and in line," Desirée wished felt reassuring but unfortunately it didn't. There were a few kapa haka tutors that didn't want to get the job of teaching the year 7/8's in kapa haka, Desirée didn't know why until now. It's not that they weren't that bad they just needed to be more mindful, that would be the polite way to put it. After another 10 minutes had passed the place was full of teens, whispering and giggles in one corner and some getting rowdy in another.
"Alright everyone come sit down please," Aunty Lizzie spoke up catching their attention. " Now today we have your new kapa haka tutor who you will make feel welcome and be best behaviour," she informs sternly before looking Desirée signing to her that it's turn to speak. "Kia ora tatou, ko Tongariro te maunga, ko Taupō te awa, ko Arawa te waka, ko Ngāti Tūwharetoa, ko Ngāti Rangiita te hapū, ko Waitetoko te marae, ko Desirée toku ingoa. Quick backstory about myself, I was born in Taupō to a Māori - Cook Island mother and Tongan father, then when I was 5 I moved to Christchurch, and did the rest of my schooling there and also did my first ever kapahaka perfomance too, and I moved to Aus at the start this year with my older brother." She smiled at the dozens of eyes that looked her way. "There you have it your new whaea, I will be coming to check up on you to make sure you're all doing well," The older concludes before excusing herself from the room.
"Okay, so I hear that you all have a family night coming up what have prepared so far?" The girl questioned while the teens all looked at each other continuing to sit in silence. This was going to be a long session.

Vaitiare looked at her phone pacing back forth, to accept or to not accept. She wouldn't have been pacing back and forth like this if this wasn't one of her cousins friends, but unfortunately he was. Overthinking her desicions, putting up an internal battle between her concious and subconcious, when finally she somehow pressed accept, following him back. She continued on with the dishes acting attempting to not overreact or rethink her choice. Not even 1 minute later her phone was spamming with notifications. The same username popping up, liking all her photos. Heat rose to her cheeks as she realised the guy was probably stalking her page right now. She put the distraction away, so she could finish cleaning the kitchen so her Mum won't give her a hiding.
Ti sat comfortably in her room, letting herself relax now that her house work was out of the way when she realised he had sent her a message through insta
