AUTHOR'S POV:

In the quiet hospital room, Dhruv lay asleep, his face showing signs of unease. The steady beeping of monitors was the only sound. In his dream, he saw Alia sitting on the edge of a bed, looking at him with curious eyes.

"Who are you?" she asked, her voice clear but urgent. The question hung in the air, echoing in his mind, making him anxious.

Dhruv tried to answer, but no words came out. The dream felt real, yet distant, like he was watching from the outside. The question came again, louder this time, "Who are you?"

Suddenly, Dhruv woke up with a start, his eyes wide open to the bright hospital lights. He sat up quickly, his heart pounding, the image of Alia still fresh in his mind. The room felt cold and unfamiliar, and the question kept repeating in his thoughts, leaving him feeling lost and unsettled.

Sameer seated on the couch beside Dhruv's bed, quickly leaned forward, concern etched on his face. "What's wrong?" he asked, his voice full of worry.

Dhruv, still trying to catch his breath, stammered, "Alia... she... she has forgotten me." His voice trembled with pain, the weight of the dream pressing down on him. The thought of being forgotten by Alia struck him deeply, leaving him shaken and distressed.

Removing the duvet, Dhruv swung his legs over the side of the bed and stood up. "Where is she? I need to see her, right now," he insisted, his voice filled with urgency as he moved toward the door.

Sameer quickly got up and grabbed Dhruv's hands, stopping him. "Wait, Dhruv!" he said, his tone firm but gentle. "She just regained consciousness. Let her adjust a bit first," Sameer suggested, hoping to calm Dhruv down and give Alia some time to recover.

"I need to see her right now," Dhruv repeated, pulling his wrist away from Sameer's grasp.

Pushing open the door, Dhruv dashed past the people in the hallway, his heart racing as he headed toward Alia's room. As he reached the door and was about to enter, he paused, hearing the sound of soft sobs coming from inside.

He glanced through the glass window and saw Alia, his angel, hugging a man while she sobbed. Pushing the door open a bit more, Dhruv strained to hear her voice.

"Jay, why did he do it?" Alia's voice trembled with anguish. "Why did he come into my life, make my heart soar, only to shatter it and break me?" She pulled back slightly, looking at Jay with tear-filled eyes. "I trusted him, Jay. I gave him everything. How could he do this?"

Jay gently stroked her hair, his voice soft but reassuring. "I don't know why he did it, Alia. But it's not your fault. You deserve so much better-someone who sees your worth and cherishes you."

Alia shook her head, tears streaming down her face. "But they wouldn't be him. He was everything to me."

"It hurts so much," she continued, her voice barely a whisper. "I feel so lost, like a part of me is missing." Jay hugged her tighter, allowing her to pour out her heart.

"Shhh," Jay soothed, gently rubbing her back. "You're not alone. You have people who care about you, who will help you through this."

"I'm here for you too,' he added.

Outside the room, Dhruv stood frozen, his heart sinking with each word. The realisation that Alia felt betrayed and didn't trust him was like a dagger to his chest. Overwhelmed by the pain of her words, he took a step back, retreating from the door. In his daze, he collided with Sameer, who had been standing behind him, watching the scene unfold.
Dhruv's face showed a mix of shock and sadness, his eyes revealing the pain of his broken heart. Hearing Alia's words left him feeling crushed and more alone than ever.
