ITS HAPPENINGGGGG!
NEW AU
WHOOOO

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Aru hated balls, especially the ones where your supposed to find a guy to date and be expected to marry. It's all a waste to f time. Besides, the only truly good candidates to date are in books. All the princes in reality always end up cute but with a trash personality or ugly with an even worse personality. Well her mother forced her to go to one of this supposed family friend who they hadn't seen in years so it was like sort of a reunion. Aru can't keep her own relatives straight, let alone remember some dude she was friends with. Now on to the present.
Aru stood to the side, near the snack bar and eating a chocolate cupcake. It was a good chocolate cupcake. It had little star sprinkles and edible silver glitter on the chocolate frosting. Aru accidentally got some of the frosting on her nose and didn't notice. She was definitely not aware of the pair of dark starry eyes that were staring at her from across the room.
~~~to Aiden~~~

Aiden was the prince who had been hosting the ball. It was also it was his birthday so a ball was what came to his mother's mind in order to celebrate. He didn't want that but he always wanted his mom to be happy. It's been hard for her after Aiden's dad ran off with some girl. Either way, Aiden recognized one girl out of all the guests other than his cousin and best friend. It was Aru. Aru was one of his first friends and they were really close for a while. Truth be told, she made him really happy and was different from the other royalty. She sometimes even made him nervous, unlike his best friend and cook, Brynne. She looked stunning, with her white gown that faded into a black at the bottom. Her hair was let loose and she didn't have a lot of makeup on. She looked better than all the other girls, who had probably spent hours on makeup.
Suddenly, someone nudged him. It was Rudy.

"Go on, say hi to the girl you clearly want" he encouraged.

"What?! No of course not, she probably doesn't even remember me"

"Fine, I'll talk to her" Rudy replied in triumph and walked up to her. The thing is that Rudy didn't expect Aru to be like, well Aru. Rudy came back, his ego destroyed, and his shoulders hunched.

"You never said she was mean" he pouted, hurt by whatever Aru said.

"She's mean when she's annoyed or fed up" Aiden said simply, shrugging. Suddenly, Brynne walked up to them.

"Ayyy there's the birthday boy" she said with a proud smile.

"Hi Bee"

"Is this the big year when you finally stop pining and confess to your beloved Aru"

"NO, what if-"

"Oh shush, I don't want to hear that list again" Brynne said with a frown.

"Well I refuse to sit here and listen to you two, imma go and get control of the music" Rudy said, jumping onto his feet and skipping off.

"Okay, Aiden I found this lucky charm that I heard completely erase any hint of fear and nervousness" Brynne said showing off a necklace with a black crystal at the end.

"So, I can use it to talk to her?" Aiden said with hope. Brynne wasn't super weird but she isnt normal either so Aiden was hesitant to beilive that the little thing could help him in his girl troubles. Wait since when-

"Yup, think of it as an early birthday present"

Aiden quickly put it on, without a second thought, tucking the necklace into his shirt so he wouldn't lose it. He took a breath and walked towards Aru.
