Things Fall Apart

As I stood in my room, I sat on my chair just staring at the computer screen. Today was the day that Masrani would come to see the Indominus and many things could go wrong. As well the park does not have enough safety measures in case it escapes. Suddenly my walkie talkie starts buzzing.

Hamada: "Hey kid, do you copy, over." I go over and grab it.

Me: "I copy, over."

Hamada: "Today is the big day huh kid, over."

Me: "Yup. The Indominus is finally being checked by Mr. Masrani, over."

Hamada: "Listen kid, all ACU units will be o standby in case anything happens. If the Indominus ever escapes and I don't make it...."

Me: "Nothing will happen. I'm praying that nothing happe-" Before I could finish he cuts me off.

Hamada: "If I don't make it.... just know I am and will forever be proud of you. And I know your father will be too, over." I started shedding a few tears of both happiness and sadness.

Me: "Your gonna make it. I know you are and we will celebrate my birthday in three weeks. That's an order, over." I could then hear Hamada chuckle over the walkie talkie.

Hamada: "Giving orders to your commander huh. I taught you well. I'll see you kid, over." Just then the conversation ends and I place my walkie talkie back on the table. Please nothing happen. Hamada and Owen are the only people I care about on this island. I get up and leave my room and see Kenji being a lazy shit. Ben drawing and Sammy and Yasmina doing god knows what.

Me: "Why is it so quiet? Usually Kenji is bragging about being a privileged rich asshole. Just then Darius bursts through the doors.

Darius: "What up camp cretaceous!? Woo-hoo!" Kid really is a dino fan. Guess why Kenji and Brooklyn call him Dino nerd.

Kenji: "Not in a 'woo-ho' mood this morning, Darius. Not after yesterday. Walking through a rain storm will do that."

Ben: "We only had to walk because you crashed our gyrosphere." Kenji glared at Ben and he hides behind Darius.

Me: "Does sound like your fault though Kenji." I say as I start making myself some coffee.

Darius: "But today's kayak day. Who doesn't want to paddle next to dinosaurs, real dinosaurs! It's gonna be awesome, right?" Darius then looks around and finally realizes. "Wait where are Dave and Roxie?" Wait he actually has a point. Where the hell are they?

Kenji: "The babysitters left early and left this behind." Kenji slides over using a chair and hands Darius a note.

Darius: "Brb, gotta go boss talk. BB. Later, smiley face." God damnit that's definitely Dave speak if I ever heard of it. "Is that a dinosaur holding a thumbs up?"

Me: "What?"

Kenji: "That's Dave speech. Roxie translated it on the back."

Darius: ""We have to go talk to our boss. Stay inside until we return. Draw, bond, whatever. The radio's set for channel six in case you need us. Stay inside, stay inside. Do not leave, Kenji, looking at you."

Me: Hah! Even through a note Roxie roast you Kenji you bitch!" I then throw a chocolate bar at Kenji.

Darius: Sorry for the kids' menus, it's all Dave had."

Kenji: "Do they realize how old we are? I mean when was the last time you saw a crayon!?" Ben then shows a drawing he made of him and Bumpy playing chess. Kid's really got a dino crush huh?

Yasmina: "I have notes."

Sammy: "Yasmina." She says as she grudges Yasmina's elbow. Just then Brooklyn burst open the doors.
