"Richard, I need to talk to you!" I say as I burst through the beautiful wooden ornate office door. I look at the man who is technically my sire because I am part Vampire and wait for him to acknowledge me to show that I do respect him despite the fact that anyone else barging in like I just did would spend a week down in the cells.

"What do you want Sapphirine? I am very busy!" He exclaims after a couple of minutes and then sighs without looking up from his desk. This just pissed me off more, but I try to keep it in as I don't want to cause something to happen, again. I take a deep breath to try and calm down before continuing

"What is the meaning of this plane ticket and passport?" I ask as I throw the envelope containing a first class ticket to Egypt and a passport for me. Not that I was going to complain as I wanted to go back there, but this was a one way ticket and I didn't want to leave Australia for good, at least not yet anyway. Everything from my biological parents and Aunt and cousins was here in a storage unit that my Step uncle couldn't get his grubby hands on, not that he even knew about it and I didn't want to risk losing it all.

I watch as Richard pauses what he was writing and then looks at the envelope before raising his eyes to look at me, glaring at me before his expression changes to friendly neutral, even if I could still feel the anger that was just under the surface and then he answers

"What do you think it looks like? For a smart girl you're being rather stupid!"

"Really Richard? You're kicking me out? And to another country! All I did was ask you to look for my Adoptive Father so that I could let him know that his adoption of me actually went through, but was hidden by my step uncle and see if I could get some help in getting completely away from my step uncle where you can't help me anymore than you have, which has been almost fuck all.

And yet this is a one way ticket! What am I to do with all my stuff here? It's not like the allowance you give me as being a member of your line is going to keep my storage unit active while I am gone because you're not even giving me the full amount, that is why I also work for you. So what the hell is going on?"

He rubs his face in frustration before getting up and walking around his desk to lean on the front edge where he turns slightly to pick up the envelope and then coming back to face me with it he says

"I am not actually kicking you out, however, I am sending you to your adoptive father as when I finally found him and contacted him he instructed me to send you to him. He is a master vampire and the head of his line and as such you know that I cannot go against his wishes even if I wanted to, but he outranks me in the vampire world. Which, as you know, I have never really wanted the responsibility of a halfling like yourself or even your birth father, but I have been forced to under Vampire law as it was my blood that was drank by both your paternal grandmother and biological mother while they were pregnant against my warnings not to do that, but it was the only way to save both mother and child in both instances and I did promise to help your biological father's bloodline.

I could have not acknowledged you as a member of my line when you first found yourself lost at my doorstep, but I did and as such I have done all that I am legally required under vampire law to make sure you were looked after, but seeing as your adoptive father has always considered you an honorary member of his line unbeknownst to either of us until now he naturally wants you to live with him and he will take responsibility of you and all your affairs here, you will still be a member of my line should you ever need anything, but I doubt you ever will with your father and this will be best for all of us."

"But that's not fair...!" I start to exclaim, but Richard just cuts me off with a slicing of his hand in the air and standing suddenly than took a step towards me very fast so that he stood over me at his full height of 6 foot 2 that was over 9 inches taller than my 5 foot 5 and most people would cower at his obvious intimidation to show he was in charge, but I am not most people and I don't even flinch which I know he hates.
